MENDU ENTERPRISE PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a PROJECT ENGINEER DATA CENTRE INFRASTRUCTURE for Bengaluru project. You will supervise civil works, ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery under Site Engineer guidance.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of civil site experience and a degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, with hands-on execution across foundations, RCC, formwork and finishing. This role is based on site at Data Centre Infrastructure Project Bengaluru.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have practical civil-construction site experience with exposure to RCC, reinforcement and formwork.
• Ability to read and follow approved civil drawings and ensure readiness before execution.
• Strong coordination with sites, planning, quality, safety and other teams.

Responsibilities

• Take daily/weekly work assignments from Site Engineer and convert to site execution.
• Supervise civil works including excavation, foundations, reinforcement, formwork, concreting, masonry and finishing.
• Ensure readiness of manpower, material, machinery, drawings, access and safety inspections.
• Direct and supervise Contractors and monitor workmanship and resource use.
• Check reinforcement, formwork, dimensions and readiness before concreting.
• Coordinate with Quality for inspections and rectify observations promptly.
• Ensure safe execution and proper housekeeping with safety controls.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Civil Site Engineer is a field-execution position responsible for executing and supervising the civil work front, area or package allotted by the Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer. The role is to ensure that assigned work is completed safely, correctly, to the required quality and within planned timelines, in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, Method Statements and project requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take daily/weekly work assignments and priorities from the Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer and convert them into organised site execution.
• Supervise assigned civil works including excavation, foundations, reinforcement, formwork, RCC/concreting, masonry, waterproofing, flooring, finishing, drainage, roads and external works.
• Read and follow the latest approved civil/structural drawings; clarify discrepancies or missing information before execution rather than proceeding on assumptions.
• Ensure work-front readiness covering manpower, material, machinery, drawings, access, safety requirements and required quality inspections.
• Direct and supervise contractors/workmen at the allotted work front and monitor workmanship, productivity and proper utilisation of resources.
• Check reinforcement, formwork, dimensions, line, level, embedded items, sleeves/openings and other readiness requirements before concreting or concealment.
• Coordinate with Quality for inspections/testing and ensure work is internally ready before offering it for inspection; promptly rectify observations.
• Ensure safe execution of assigned activities in coordination with HSE/Safety, including PPE, access, housekeeping, barricading and applicable work controls.
• Coordinate with Planning, Stores, Survey, Quality, Safety, PEB and MEP teams for smooth execution and timely resolution of interfaces.
• Monitor material usage, manpower and machinery at the assigned work front and highlight shortages, wastage or constraints to the Site Engineer.
• Record actual quantities completed, support measurements and provide factual inputs on contractor progress.
• Provide a concise daily update covering planned vs. completed work, manpower/resources, constraints, inspections and requirements for the following day.
• Protect completed work, close pending observations and properly hand over completed work fronts to the next activity/discipline.

ACCOUNTABILITY & AUTHORITY

The Civil Site Engineer is accountable for day-to-day execution of the work assigned by the Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer. The Engineer may direct contractor supervisors within the assigned work front, require correction of poor workmanship, prevent use of unapproved material/drawings, and hold work where required inspection, safety control or technical clarification is pending. Major technical deviations, design/specification changes, material substitutions, contractual matters and commercial commitments shall be referred to the Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer and appropriate project authority.

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

The candidate should have practical civil-construction site experience with exposure to RCC, reinforcement, formwork, concreting, civil finishing, drawing reading, line & level, quantity measurement, contractor supervision and site coordination. Experience in Construction of Multi story Buildings- Data Centre, industrial, commercial, multistorey or PEB-related projects will be preferred. The role requires strong site presence, execution discipline, practical problem solving, contractor handling, coordination, timely escalation and accurate reporting.
