Job Summary

The Civil Construction Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and supervising all civil construction activities associated with thermal power plant projects. The role ensures that construction work is completed safely, within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Execution

• Supervise and monitor civil construction activities at site.
• Execute construction works related to:
  • Main Power Block
  • Boiler Foundation
  • Turbine Generator (TG) Foundation
  • Cooling Towers
  • Chimney/Stack Structures
  • Coal Handling Plant (CHP)
  • Ash Handling Plant (AHP)
  • Water Treatment Plant (WTP)
  • Administrative and Auxiliary Buildings
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.

Planning & Coordination

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly construction plans.
• Monitor project schedules and ensure timely completion of milestones.
• Coordinate with Mechanical and Electrical teams for interface activities.
• Participate in progress review meetings and report construction status.

Quality Control

• Ensure construction activities comply with quality standards and project specifications.
• Monitor concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, excavation, and structural activities.
• Review material quality reports and test certificates.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals with QA/QC teams.

Safety Management

• Ensure adherence to site safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Identify and mitigate construction risks.
• Support implementation of HSE requirements at project sites.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
• Preference for candidates with experience in Thermal Power Plant, Power, Energy, Industrial, Steel, Cement, Refinery, or Infrastructure projects.

Experience

• 8-13 years of experience in civil construction projects.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Thermal Power Plant construction preferred.
• Hands-on experience in industrial structures, RCC works, foundations, and heavy equipment foundations.
