Job summary

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is seeking an Engineer Execution – Site (Civil) to oversee day-to-day civil construction on site in Chennai, India. You will ensure progress per design and schedule, maintain quality, and enforce safety while coordinating with site teams and contractors.

Responsibilities include supervising earthwork to finishing activities, coordinating QA/QC and HSE, and addressing technical issues with design teams. A Diploma/BE/BTech in Civil Engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Must have Diploma/BE/BTech in Civil Engineering.
• English and local language proficiency (spoken and written).
• Experience in high rise buildings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute civil works (earthwork, substructure, superstructure, finishing) per drawings and specs.
• Supervise subcontractors and workforce to meet schedule and quality standards.
• Monitor daily site progress and escalate delays to reporting managers.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections and with HSE for safe practices.
• Assist in preparing bar bending schedules, joint measurements, and contractor bills.
• Identify and resolve technical issues with design/engineering teams while ensuring compliance with codes and safety guidelines.

Job description

The Engineer Execution – Site (Civil) is responsible for executing day-to-day civil construction activities at the site. The role focuses on ensuring work progress as per design and schedule, maintaining quality and safety standards, and effective coordination with site teams and contractors.

SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Execute assigned civil works (earthwork, substructure, superstructure, finishing, etc.) by approved drawings and technical specifications. Supervise subcontractors and workforce to ensure adherence to schedule and quality standards.
• Monitor daily site progress, elevate delays or issues to reporting managers. Ensure timely availability and optimum utilisation of materials, manpower, and equipment.
• Conduct inspection of civil works including shuttering, reinforcement, concreting, brickwork, plastering, etc. Maintain site documentation like DPR, inspection checklists, material reconciliation, etc.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections and with HSE for ensuring safe work practices. Support in the preparation of bar bending schedules (BBS), joint measurements, and contractor bills.
• Identify and resolve technical issues in coordination with design/engineering teams. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, client requirements, and safety guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
