Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering (required).
• 5–10 years of experience in industrial/infrastructure projects, preferably Oil & Gas/CGD.
• Strong design, construction, billing/certification and QA/QC knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and supervise CGS/DCU/CNG station civil works and pipelines.

Job Description – Civil Engineer(CGD Projects)

Position: Civil Engineer

Location: Kottayam GA

Department: Projects & Engineering

Role Overview

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the planning, execution, supervision, and quality assuranceof all civil works relatedto City Gate Stations(CGS), District ControlUnits (DCU), L-CNG/CNG Stations and civil related work in MDPE/steel pipeline laying within the City Gas Distribution network. The role requires strong technical knowledge of civil design and construction, regulatory compliance, and coordination with internal teams, contractors, and statutory authorities to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Design

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and civil designs for CGS, DCU, and CNG stations.
• Ensure compliance with OISD, PESO, PNGRB, and other applicable statutory codes/standards.
• Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and tender documents for civil works.
• Coordination with PMC vendor for all the civil engineering related documents.

Execution & Supervision

• Oversee site preparation, foundations, structures, driveways, pavements, boundary walls, drainage, and other associated civil works.
• Monitor progress of construction activities against project schedules.
• Ensure safety and quality at all project sites.
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and resolve construction issues.

Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams for interface works.
• Liaise with contractors, vendors, consultants, and government bodies.
• Maintain project records, site reports, and quality documentation.

Billing & Certification

• Prepare and verify contractors’ running account (RA) bills as per work progress.
• Certify quantities executed at site against approveddrawings and BOQs.
• Maintain records of measurements, site instructions, and work completion for billing purposes.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and accounts team for timely processing of bills.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms, rates, and approved work orders.

HSE Compliance

• Implement and monitor adherence to HSE standards during construction.
• Conduct toolbox talks and site safety audits.

Cost & Resource Management

• Track budgets, material usage, and manpower deployment.
• Ensure cost optimization without compromising on quality and safety

Qualification & Skills

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• Experience: 5–10 years (depending on role level)in industrial/infrastructure projects, preferably in Oil & Gas/CGD sector.

Technical Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering design and construction practices.
• Familiarity with codes/standards – OISD, PNGRB, PESO, IS codes.
• Experience in foundation design for heavy equipment, piling, and structural works.
• Knowledge of roads, drainage, water supply, and utility works at CGS/DCU/CNG/PNG site
• Hands-on experience in billing, certification, and quantity surveying.
