Job summary

Fluor Corporation is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer in Gurgaon to lead civil design for Oil & Gas infrastructure. You will plan, design and oversee detailed civil engineering aspects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams from design through construction.

The role requires a strong technical foundation, 10+ years of experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related software. Willingness to travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree an added advantage.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience in Oil & Gas.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other civil/structural software.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, construction methods and project execution.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in teams.
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver civil engineering design solutions for Oil & Gas infrastructure projects (pipelines, tanks, processing plants, platforms, foundations).
• Prepare detailed designs, drawings, specifications and calculations using CAD and software like SAP2000, SAFE, NAVIS.
• Conduct site assessments, surveys and feasibility evaluations; respond to TQs.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects and multidisciplinary teams for coordinated execution.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, safety norms and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare BOQs for civil and structural works.
• Provide technical support during construction and resolve site queries.
• Stay updated with industry trends, materials and best practices in civil engineering for Oil & Gas.

Role Overview

The Senior Civil Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, planning, and oversight of civil engineering aspects for major infrastructure projects. This role requires a strong technical foundation, effective project management skills, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams. The position involves delivering high‑quality engineering solutions for Oil & Gas infrastructure projects and supporting execution from design through construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver civil engineering design solutions for Oil & Gas infrastructure projects such as pipelines, storage tanks, processing plants, pipe racks, electrical and control buildings, platforms, and equipment foundations.

• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and calculation notes using CAD and engineering software like SAP2000 , SAFE , NAVIS , etc.

• Conduct site assessments, surveys, and feasibility evaluations to determine design requirements and project constraints, including reviewing and responding to site Technical Queries (TQs).

• Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure coordinated and efficient project execution.

• Ensure all designs adhere to industry codes, standards, safety norms, and regulatory requirements.

• Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) for civil and structural works.

• Provide technical support during construction, resolve site queries, and manage design modifications as needed.

• Stay updated with current industry trends, technologies, materials, and best practices related to civil engineering in the Oil & Gas sector.

• Independently complete underground design work including trench design, surface water drainage, and preparation of underground composite plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering ; a Master’s degree is an added advantage.

• Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is preferred.

• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience , specifically within the Oil & Gas industry.

• Proficiency in design and modeling tools such as AutoCAD , Civil 3D , and other structural/civil engineering software.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
