Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) Preparation: Prepare detailed, error-free Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for all structural elements (foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and retaining walls) in compliance with IS codes (IS 2502, IS 456, IS 13920) and structural drawings.
• Steel Optimization & Wastage Control: Plan cutting lengths, lap lengths, and rebar arrangements to minimize scrap and steel wastage strictly within project-specified tolerance limits.
• Site Execution & Supervison: Supervise RCC work, shuttering, bar binding, and concreting on-site to ensure accurate execution as per approved GFC (Good for Construction) drawings.
• Quantity Surveying & Billing: Verify contractor/subcontractor steel consumption, prepare client and sub-contractor measurement sheets (MBs), and certify running account (RA) bills against actual site execution.
• Drawing Review & Coordination: Scrutinize architectural and structural drawings, identify discrepancies or clashes early, and coordinate with structural consultants for timely revisions.
• Material Management & Reconciliation: Maintain running inventory, track incoming rebar consignments against test certificates, perform periodic steel reconciliation, and raise material indent requests as per schedule.
• Quality Assurance & Inspection: Conduct pre-pour inspections (checking rebar cover, chair bars, spacing, laps, and ties) and coordinate cube sampling and slump testing to maintain QA/QC standards.
• Progress Reporting: Maintain daily progress reports (DPR), joint measurement records, bar bending registers, and material wastage logs.
