Job summary

PVinsight Inc. seeks a Civil Designer to support Civil Engineers in planning, design, and modeling of site grading, surface preparation, stormwater management systems, and infrastructure utility layouts for large-scale solar projects.

You will work under a Civil Engineer and coordinate with other disciplines to establish deliverables. The role requires at least 7 years of Civil design experience and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD, with a focus on land development and permitting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in Civil design or large-scale Civil construction.
• Experience in land development projects.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Civil Designer.
• Experience preparing civil engineering construction and permitting drawing.
• Knowledge or Proficiency using AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD.

Responsibilities

• Oversee large-scale project civil and site preparation design. Coordinate with other Engineering disciplines (Project, Structural, Electrical) and establish deliverables.
• Manage civil engineering for the completion of grading and erosion control plans, construction specifications, SWPPP, hydrology reports, etc.
• Perform civil engineering design including site design, site grading, earthwork balance, drainage, utilities, sanitary collection and water distribution systems, storm water management, erosion and sediment control designs/plans.
• Complete project due diligence to evaluate grading and site preparation strategy, existing drainage conditions and general site conditions.
• Report tasks and civil deliverables status to key internal team including Project Engineering, Project Management and Senior Management.
• Review grading and drainage plans, drainage studies, ALTA/topo and other survey documents, and geotechnical reports to make recommendations for project site preparation design and identify schedule and cost constraints.
• Organize and lead meetings related to Civil Engineering and site preparation with multiple internal and external project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multiple civil disciplines working as a team to solve design challenges.
