Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Designer to lead our design team. The candidate will have extensive experience in complex civil engineering projects and advanced proficiency in Civil 3D and other CAD software. The role requires a proactive, team-oriented individual who can manage design models, mentor junior staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality engineering documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex roadway and site design: create corridors, subassemblies, contour grading, and surface cleanup/manipulation.
• Design utilities and infrastructure plans and profiles using Civil 3D; create pipe networks, edit parts and styles, size catch basins and manholes, meet minimum cover, draft waterlines with deflection per jurisdictional requirements.
• Manage data shortcuts/references, interact with complex Civil 3D surfaces, and create/edit advanced labels, parcels, CAD & sheet management work.
• Coordinate extensively with subconsultants, design engineers, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical design conflicts.
• Evaluate engineering alternatives, troubleshoot software/design issues, and research jurisdictional requirements unique to each project.
• Prepare, manage, and review engineering plans and project documents; ensure deliverables adhere to BIM and CAD standards.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute work safely, timely, and cost‑effectively; provide guidance and technical support to junior drafting personnel.
• Adapt to different working environments and build rapport with clients and stakeholders using professional written and spoken business English.

Qualifications

• Education: ITI, Diploma, or Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Experience: 5–10 years of drafting and design experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, infrastructure, industrial, and aviation projects.
• Technical proficiency: mastery of Civil 3D (advanced corridor modeling, pipe networks, surface management); comprehensive knowledge of BIM methodologies.
• Communication and teamwork: excellent interpersonal skills, ability to lead design coordination efforts, and collaborate effectively.
• Personal attributes: strong problem‑solving abilities, highly proactive, dedicated, capable of working independently on complex tasks.
