Job summary

Tecnicas Reunidas, a world-leading international general contractor, seeks an experienced civil/structural engineer in Bengaluru. You will lead multidisciplinary design efforts for large industrial projects and ensure compliance with Eurocodes and client requirements.

The role requires ~10 years in civil/structural engineering, with at least 4 years on Power Plant projects, and a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering; a Master’s is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Around 10 years of experience in civil/structural engineering within engineering consultancy, EPC companies, or construction environments.
• At least last 4 years dedicated to Power Plant projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). A Master’s degree or advanced specialization in structural engineering will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead, oversee and/or preparation the development of structural calculations, technical studies, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements (e.g., Eurocodes and project-specific regulations).
• Review and approve engineering documentation produced by junior and mid-level engineers.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure integrated and consistent design solutions.
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions.
• Manage technical risks and contribute to problem-solving during project execution.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and methodologies.

Professionals with relevant design experience in the industry sectors of Oil & Gas, Refinery, Power Plant, and Petrochemical and having good knowledge in the following activities:

ROLE SUMMARY

Around 10 years of experience in civil/structural engineering within engineering consultancy, EPC companies, or construction environments. At least last 4 years dedicated to Power Plant projects. Experience in Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP), Thermal Power Plants, Cogeneration Plants, or Renewable Energy facilities. Proven experience in leading or significantly contributing to medium and large-scale multidisciplinary projects. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). A Master’s degree or advanced specialization in structural engineering, construction, or related disciplines will be highly valued.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, oversee and/or preparation the development of structural calculations, technical studies, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements (e.g., Eurocodes and project-specific regulations).
• Review and approve engineering documentation produced by junior and mid-level engineers.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members..
• Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, piping, architectural, etc.) to ensure integrated and consistent design solutions.
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions, acting as a technical representative when required.
• Manage technical risks and contribute to problem-solving during project execution. Support project planning from a technical perspective, including effort estimation and workload distribution.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and methodologies within the department.

TECHNICAL SKILL

• Strong technical expertise in structural and civil engineering design.
• High analytical and problem-solving capability. Leadership skills and ability to mentor and develop engineers.
• Strong decision-making and responsibility in technical matters. Excellent communication and coordination skills in multidisciplinary environments.
• Ability to manage priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
• High attention to quality, safety, and compliance standards.
• Design and review of: Turbine and Generator foundations, Boiler supporting structures and HRSG structures.
• High level of English (C1–C2), with fluency in technical communication, reporting, and client interaction.
• Extensive experience with structural design and analysis tools: STAAD.Pro , AP 2000.
• Other advanced structural tools as applicable. Strong command of Microsoft Excel for advanced engineering calculations and project control.
