Job summary

Tecnicas Reunidas, a world-leading EPC contractor, seeks a senior civil/structural engineer for major Power Plant projects in Bengaluru. Lead design activities, ensure quality, schedule, and cost control, and serve as the main technical contact with clients and discipline teams.

Requirements: 15+ years in civil/structural engineering in EPC or construction, 7+ years on Power Plant projects, a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (Masters valued).

Qualifications

• 15+ years of civil/structural engineering experience in EPC or construction.
• At least 7 years on Power Plant projects (CCPP/thermal/renewable).
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil/structural engineering activities within projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget compliance.
• Act as the main technical point of contact for clients, PMs, and other disciplines.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and oversee integration of design deliverables.
• Review and approve key engineering deliverables, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Manage technical risks and provide strategic solutions to complex engineering challenges.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and professional development.

Professionals with relevant design experience in the industry sectors of Oil & Gas, Refinery, Power Plant, and Petrochemical and having good knowledge in the following activities:

ROLE SUMMARY

More than 15 years of experience in civil/structural engineering within EPC companies, engineering consultancies, or construction environments. At least last 7 years dedicated to Power Plant projects. Experience in Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP), Thermal Power Plants, Cogeneration Plants, or Renewable Energy facilities. Proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary projects from design to execution phases. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). A Master’s degree or advanced specialization in structural engineering, project management, or construction will be highly valued.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the engineering activities of civil/structural discipline within projects, ensuring technical quality, schedule, and budget compliance.
• Act as the main technical point of contact for clients, project management, and other disciplines.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and oversee integration of all design deliverables.
• Spread, Combined or Mat Equipment Foundations (Pumps, Exchangers, Columns, Horizontal and Vertical Vessels, Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications throughout all project phases.
• Review and approve key engineering deliverables, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Manage technical risks and provide strategic solutions to complex engineering challenges.
• Participate in and lead client meetings, design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP sessions, and technical workshops.
• Support project planning, including resource allocation, workload management, and engineering execution strategies.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and professional development.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes, tools, and standards.

• Review of: Turbine and Generator foundations, Boiler supporting structures and HRSG structures.
• High level of English (C1–C2), with strong ability in technical discussions, client presentations, and formal reporting.
• Extensive experience with structural design and analysis tools: STAAD.Pro, SAP 2000.
• Other advanced engineering software relevant to project scope Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for engineering management and project control.
