Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Cisco Data Network Engineer in India to support global retail network infrastructure. The role focuses on routing and switching, VLANs, STP, OSPF/BGP, port-channels, and stacking, with emphasis on monitoring and logging using tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, and PRTG.

Candidates should have 10–15 years of networking experience, strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and the ability to operate in a 24/7 NOC environment.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of networking experience.
• Experience monitoring network devices using SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, or PRTG.
• Strong knowledge of VLANs, STP, OSPF/BGP, Port-channels, stacking.
• Experience in NOC environments with 24/7 monitoring.
• Ability to analyze logs and performance metrics to identify trends.

Responsibilities

• Expertise in Network Monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
• Familiarity with monitoring protocols (SNMP, NetFlow, ICMP).
• Experience with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG).
• Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash) is a plus.
• Understanding of Linux/Windows systems.

Job Requirements*

• Network technician who supports Network infrastructure for retail customers across globe having 5 to 8+ years of experience in networking
• Monitor network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, servers) using tools like SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor, Nagios, Zabbix, or PRTG Network Monitor
• Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues (latency, packet loss, downtime)
• Configure alerts and notifications for system anomalies
• Analyze logs and performance metrics to identify trends and potential issues
• Ensure network uptime and service availability (24/7 monitoring in NOC environments)
• Work with IT teams to resolve incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Generate reports on network performance and incidents
• Maintain documentation of network configurations and monitoring processes
