Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a senior telecommunication system engineer in India to lead design and implementation of integrated telecom subsystems for metro and rail projects. You will define OFC backbone, TETRA/LTE-R radios, and Master Clock systems, while coordinating PA/PIDS, CCTV, and VMS installations.

You will drive network security and 100% redundancy for transmission networks. The role requires leadership in interface coordination among Telecom, Signaling, E&M and Civil teams, licensing

Qualifications

• Graduate in engineering with extensive telecom/system design background.
• Experience on integrated telecom subsystems for public transport projects.
• Background in OFC, radio systems, CCTV, PA/PIDS and OCC concepts.

Responsibilities

• Authorizing design of integrated telecom subsystems including OFC backbone and radio systems.
• Overseeing station systems such as PA, PIDS, CCTV and video management.
• Designing cyber-secure OCC architectures with 100% redundancy for transmissions.
• Overseeing CRE site governance for equipment rooms, trackside telephony and antenna positioning.
• Leading interface management between Telecom, Signaling, E&M and Civil teams.
• Managing CMRS licensing and safety certification demonstrations.
• Approving FAT/SAT tests and ensuring KPI-driven handover readiness.

Currently, we are bidding for Metro projects across India. The position of Chief Telecommunication System Engineer & Chief Resident Engineer Telecommunication is the key position in these BIDs.

Missions/Main Duties

• System Design & Strategy: Authorizing the design of integrated telecommunication subsystems, including the Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) backbone, TETRA/LTE-R radio systems, and the Master Clock system.

• Station Systems Oversight: Managing the technical specifications and layouts for Public Address (PA), Passenger Information Display Systems (PIDS), CCTV surveillance, and Video Management Systems.

• Network Security & Resilience: Designing cyber-secure architectures for the Operation Control Center (OCC) and ensuring 100% redundancy for transmission systems to prevent communication blackouts.

• CRE Site Governance: Serving as the Chief Resident Engineer to oversee the physical installation of equipment rooms, trackside telephone systems, and antenna positioning for seamless radio coverage.

• Interface Management: Leading critical integration between Telecom and Signaling (for data transmission), E&M (for power and cooling), and Civil (for cable containment and ducting).

• CMRS & Regulatory Compliance: Managing frequency licensing with government bodies (like WPC) and leading the technical demonstrations for CMRS safety certification.

• Quality & Commissioning: Approving Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for all subsystems, ensuring they meet rigorous performance KPIs before handover.

• 7+ years of experience in relevant projects.
