Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems or related field.
• MBA / Technology Management / equivalent qualification would be an advantage.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership with enterprise-scale IT environments.
• Experience in higher education, multi-campus environments would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the university’s long-term technology and digital transformation strategy.
• Oversee AI adoption, data analytics, cloud and on-prem infrastructure, and cybersecurity programs.
• Lead ERP/SIS/LMS/HRMS/Finance/CRM implementations and integrations across campuses.
• Ensure governance, security, reliability, and scalable IT services across the university.
• Build a data-driven culture with dashboards and analytics for decision making.

Job Description – Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Position Overview

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will provide strategic and operational leadership for the University's technology ecosystem, driving digital transformation, technology innovation, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, data management, and technology-enabled academic and administrative services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology Strategy & Digital Transformation

• Develop and execute the University's long-term technology and digital transformation strategy.
• Identify emerging technologies including AI, Generative AI, automation, cloud computing, IoT, analytics, and intelligent campus solutions.
• Lead technology modernization initiatives across academic and administrative functions.
• Establish technology standards, architecture, policies, and governance frameworks.

2. IT Infrastructure & Operations

• Oversee the University's complete IT infrastructure, including:
• Data centres and servers
• Cloud infrastructure
• Network and Wi-Fi
• Internet connectivity
• End-user computing
• Campus technology infrastructure
• CCTV, access control and other technology-enabled security systems
• Ensure high availability, reliability, scalability, and performance of critical IT services.

3. Enterprise Applications & ERP

• Provide leadership for implementation, integration, and optimization of ERP, SIS, LMS, HRMS, Finance, CRM, Library Management, Examination and other enterprise applications.
• Ensure seamless integration between various institutional systems.
• Drive automation of repetitive and manual processes.

4. Cybersecurity & Data Protection

• Establish and strengthen the University's cybersecurity framework.
• Oversee information security, access management, data protection, vulnerability management, incident response, and disaster recovery.
• Ensure appropriate security controls for student, employee, financial, research, and institutional data.
• Develop business continuity and IT disaster recovery strategies.

5. AI, Data & Analytics

• Establish a university-wide roadmap for AI adoption and responsible AI usage.
• Drive implementation of AI-enabled solutions for teaching, learning, research, administration, student services, and decision-making.
• Build institutional data and analytics capabilities.
• Promote data-driven decision-making through dashboards, BI, predictive analytics, and reporting.

Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's/master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• MBA / Technology Management / equivalent qualification would be an advantage.

Experience

• 15+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, with significant experience managing enterprise-scale IT environments.
• Proven experience in a CTO / CIO / Director-IT / Head-IT / Technology leadership role.
• Experience in higher education, large institutions, enterprise organizations, or multi-campus environments would be highly desirable.

Strong experience in digital transformation, enterprise applications, cloud, cybersecurity, data, AI, and IT infrastructure.
