Job summary

Kindred Talent is seeking an accomplished Mining CXO to lead opencast operations across multiple pits. You will direct a 1200+ workforce, drive safety, efficiency, and ESG goals while ensuring 2.5 MT per year of bauxite delivery and strong P&L performance.

The role requires 15–20 years in opencast mining with 10+ years in CXO/GM leadership. Central India exposure and regulatory adeptness are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Mining Engineering is required.
• M.Tech or MBA (Operations) preferred.
• 15–20 years of progressive opencast mining experience, with at least 10 years in CXO/GM-level leadership.
• Strong Central India exposure with forest/diversion/tribal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead opencast mining across 4 pits with 1200+ workforce, enforcing safety and productivity.
• Develop a 5-year pit sequencing plan to sustain 2.5 MT/annum bauxite delivery.
• Oversee DGMS compliance, forest clearances, IBM submissions, PESO norms, and community engagement.
• Own the mining P&L (600+ Crore) and drive EBITDA margin, cost control, and opex discipline.
• Report to the CEO on dispatch performance, variances, and recovery plans.

Job description

Role & Responsibilities

• Command daily bauxite extraction and haulage to feed group plants and alumina refineries with spec-grade ore
• Architect and execute a 5-year pit sequencing plan to sustain 2.5 MT/annum bauxite delivery
• Direct 1200+ workforce across 4 bauxite pits, enforcing drill-blast-load cycle discipline via shift supervisors
• Oversee haul road operations, primary crushing, ROM washing, and grade blending (48% Al2O3 for alumina, 42% for steel flux)
• Deploy and manage 40+ excavators and 60+ dumpers to hit monthly production targets through fuel and fleet management dashboards
• Navigate DGMS compliance, forest clearances, IBM plan submissions, PESO explosive norms, and gram panchayat/community dynamics in active mining blocks
• Negotiate mine lease extensions and royalty terms with the Chhattisgarh Mineral Department
• Build weather-resilient operations with monsoon contingency ROM buffers to sustain 95% monthly dispatch targets
• Own the mining P&L (600+ Crore), driving EBITDA margin, stripping cost control, and opex discipline against NMDC benchmarks
• Lead safety, ESG reclamation, water harvesting, and CSR spend as per MoEF and district collector requirements
• Report to the CEO on dispatch performance, cost variances, and recovery plans

Preferred Candidate Profile

• B.Tech in Mining Engineering
• M.Tech or MBA (Operations) preferred
• 1520 years of progressive experience in opencast mining, with at least 10 years in CXO/GM-level leadership
• Prior senior leadership experience managing bauxite/coal blocks exceeding 1 MT/year
• Strong Central India exposure Chhattisgarh or Odisha mining operations, with direct experience handling forest diversion and tribal/community regulations
• Demonstrated ability to stabilize ROM supply through monsoons, lease transitions, and regulatory disruptions
• Hands-on command of mine planning and fleet telematics tools (Surpac, Micromine or equivalent)
• Proven leadership in contract-heavy, labor-intensive mining environments (1000+ workforce, unions, safety committees)
• Strong regulatory command - DGMS, IBM, PESO, forest clearances
• Track record in crisis management - slope slides, floods, equipment failures, community blockades
