We have been mandated by a large conglomerate into "Metal & Mining" industry.

Position Title: Project Head- Coal Mine

Location : Odisha / Madhya Pradesh

Qualification : B.E/B.Tech (Mining Engineering)

Experience - Min 18+ years in open cast coal mines. Green field project exposure is a must.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Mine Planning & Operations:
    • Develop and implement strategic mine plans to optimize resource extraction and operational efficiency.
    • Oversee the preparation and execution of mining operations, ensuring adherence to safety, productivity, and environmental standards.
    • Ensure timely initiation and sustained operations of the coal mine.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Lead the process of obtaining necessary statutory approvals, including environmental and forest clearances, for mine development.
    • Ensure compliance with national and state mining regulations, including the Mines Act and other relevant legislation.
    • Liaise with government agencies to ensure adherence to legal and environmental requirements.
  • Land Acquisition:
    • Develop and execute strategies for land acquisition required for mining operations.
    • Engage with landowners, local communities, and authorities to facilitate smooth acquisition processes.
    • Address and resolve any land-related issues or disputes in a timely and effective manner.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):
    • Develop and implement CSR programs that benefit local communities and promote sustainable development.
    • Ensure CSR initiatives align with company values and regulatory expectations.
    • Monitor and report on the impact of CSR activities, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, local administrations, and community leaders.
    • Manage land acquisition processes in consultation with legal and local authorities.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs to foster community development and engagement.
  • Team Leadership & Reporting:
    • Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team to achieve project milestones.
    • Report regularly to the executive leadership on project progress, challenges, and opportunities.
    • Ensure proper financial and operational reporting and budgeting for the project.
Qualifications:
  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from a recognized institution.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 15-20 years of experience in coal mining, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing large-scale mining projects.
    • Proven experience in greenfield coal project execution, statutory compliance, land acquisition, and CSR initiatives.
    • Demonstrated expertise in managing regulatory approvals and liaising with government and local authorities.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • In-depth knowledge of mining engineering, resource planning, and operations.
    • Strong understanding of statutory mining regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to handle complex negotiations with government agencies and community stakeholders.
