The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for bringing structure, accountability and execution discipline to a rapidly growing organisation, while ensuring that the business continues to scale without compromising quality, delivery, profitability or customer commitments.
The organisation is in a phase of significant growth and transformation. The COO will therefore need to be equally comfortable with strategy and execution—able to see the larger business picture while simultaneously driving resolution of critical operational issues.
A key responsibility will be to build an organisation that can keep pace with growth: strengthening processes, developing leaders, improving cross-functional coordination, establishing clear accountability and ensuring that people, plants and functions operate with a common set of priorities.
The individual will lead operations across multiple manufacturing locations, working through plant and functional leadership teams rather than attempting to personally manage every issue.
The successful candidate will be a high-energy, decisive and resilient leader, capable of operating in ambiguity and complexity without becoming overwhelmed. He/she should be able to take a large, complex problem, break it down into clear priorities and actionable steps, assign ownership, secure commitment from the relevant teams and drive execution to closure.
A significant part of the role will involve leading people through change, including working with long-tenured employees and leaders who may find the pace of organisational growth and change challenging. The COO must be capable of building trust while simultaneously raising the bar on accountability, performance and adaptability.
The role requires a leader who can scale the organisation without losing control of the business.
