Job summary

Sterlite Electric Limited is a leading manufacturer in power transmission products and services. The company seeks a Chief Manager - NPD for the Cable Division in India to lead HV/EHV cable product development and provide process support for material and design issues.

The role emphasizes development of technical datasheets, BOM estimation, standards compliance, and design of new products while leveraging SAP/AutoCAD/CYMCAP tools to solve complex engineering challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in engineering with at least 5 years in HV/EHV cable design.
• Professional with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Indian Standards (IS) and international standards (IEC, BS, AS/NZS, UL).

Responsibilities

• Preparing Technical Particals / Design Datasheets & Cross-sectional drawings for EHV, HV, MV XLPE, Solar, MVCC Cables as per IS/IEC/BS/AS/NZS/UL.
• Preparing manufacturing guidelines for plant production team.
• Knowledge of IS & IEC, BS, AS/NZS, UL standards.
• Raw material estimation (BOM) calculation for cable costing.
• Calculations of electrical parameters for HV/EHV cables.
• Design new products and determine cable system components.
• Familiar with SAP/AutoCAD/CYMCAP.

Position Title

Position Summary

This position is responsible for new and existing HV/EHV cable product development and is responsible for providing process support to solve material and design related issues.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Preparing Technical Particulars / Design Datasheets & Cross-sectional drawings for EHV, HV, MV XLPE, Solar, MVCC Cables as per Indian & International standards
• Preparing manufacturing guidelines for plant production team
• Knowledge of Indian Standards (IS) & International Standards (IEC, BS, AS/NZS, UL etc)
• Raw material estimation (Bill of material) calculation for cable costing
• Calculations of all Electrical parameters applicable for HV/EHV cable
• Calculation of accessories for EHV cable turnkey projects along with cable system design
• Ability to design new products
• Knowledge about Raw materials of HV/EHV cable
• Knowledge about HV/EHV cable testing
• Familiar with SAP/AutoCAD / CYMCAP
