About the opportunity
We are hiring for a PE‑backed NBFC with INR500 Cr+ AUM, scaling rapidly through a branch‑led model in southern India. The organisation is backed by marquee Private Equity investors and is on an ambitious growth trajectory targeting INR3,000 Cr+ AUM over the next 3‑4 years. This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned finance leader to serve as a founding CFO‑level hire shaping the financial architecture, governance, and capital strategy of a high‑growth lending platform.
Key responsibilities
Treasury, fundraising & capital management
- Lead treasury operations, liquidity planning, and cash flow management
- Build and manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, investors, and rating agencies
- Drive fundraising through term loans, NCDs, securitisation, co‑lending, and assignment transactions
- Optimise borrowing mix, cost of funds, and capital structure; actively work to improve credit rating
Financial strategy & governance
- Define and drive financial strategy aligned with business objectives and long‑term growth plans
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and long‑term financial modelling
- Establish institution‑grade financial governance, internal controls, and management reporting frameworks
- Drive profitability, operating efficiency, and financial discipline across the organisation
Financial operations & reporting
- Oversee accounting, MIS, taxation, financial reporting, and audit functions
- Ensure timely Ind AS‑compliant financial statements and strong controls over data integrity
- Monitor portfolio profitability, provisioning, and branch‑level financial productivity
- Drive automation and process improvements across finance and accounting operations
Regulatory compliance & risk management
- Ensure full adherence to RBI NBFC regulations and all applicable statutory requirements
- Lead statutory, internal, and tax audits as well as RBI inspections
- Establish stress‑testing, provisioning, and financial risk monitoring mechanisms
Investor & stakeholder management
- Lead investor relations and maintain strong engagement with lenders, auditors, and the Board
- Present financial performance, MIS, treasury updates, and strategic insights to Board and investors
- Support due diligence exercises, fundraising presentations, and strategic transactions
Ideal candidate
- Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory - 15-18 years in Finance leadership roles in NBFCs, Banks, HFCs, or Financial Services
- Strong experience in treasury management, fundraising, lender management, and investor relations
- Deep understanding of RBI regulations, ALM, Ind AS, and capital markets
- High governance orientation, integrity, and ability to operate in a fast‑scaling entrepreneurial environment
