Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the 35-year strategic growth plan with the Chairman and Board.
  • Identify new business opportunities across lead, lead alloys, recycling, refining, and adjacent sectors.
  • Drive domestic and international market expansion.
  • Evaluate opportunities for capacity expansion, new plants, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and diversification.
  • Build a scalable business model capable of supporting significant future growth.
  • Establish clear annual and long-term business objectives and ensure organization-wide execution.
  • Own overall P&L responsibility for the organization.
  • Drive revenue growth, EBITDA improvement, profitability, cash generation, and return on capital.
  • Lead budgeting, business planning, forecasting, and capital allocation.
  • Optimize working capital, inventory, receivables, procurement costs, and operating expenses.
  • Work closely with CFOs, lenders, investors, auditors, and financial institutions.
  • Develop appropriate funding and capital strategies for expansion.
  • Establish financial discipline, performance dashboards, and management reporting systems.
  • Provide strategic leadership across manufacturing, smelting, refining, recycling, engineering, maintenance, quality, and plant operations.
  • Improve plant productivity, capacity utilization, yield, recovery rates, energy efficiency, and OEE.
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Establish world-class operational KPIs and accountability mechanisms.
  • Ensure high standards of product quality, reliability, productivity, and delivery.
  • Lead modernization and automation initiatives wherever commercially viable.
  • Develop a robust raw-material procurement strategy and strengthen supplier relationships.
  • Improve sourcing efficiency, pricing discipline, logistics, inventory management, and supply continuity.
  • Build a resilient supply chain capable of supporting future capacity expansion.
  • Develop and execute an aggressive domestic and international sales strategy.
  • Expand the customer base across industrial, automotive, battery, manufacturing, and other markets.
  • Build long-term strategic relationships with key customers.
  • Develop export markets and strengthen international distribution channels.
  • Lead pricing strategy, customer segmentation, product positioning, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strengthen the company's brand and reputation within the metals and recycling industry.
  • Champion environmentally responsible manufacturing and recycling practices.
  • Ensure strict adherence to environmental, health, safety, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive sustainability, resource efficiency, energy optimization, emissions reduction, and responsible waste-management initiatives.
  • Strengthen ESG framework and reputation as a responsible industrial organization.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with regulators, government authorities, industry bodies, and local stakeholders.
  • Build and lead a high-caliber senior management team.
  • Establish clear organizational structures, roles, KPIs, performance systems, and accountability.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain top leadership talent.
  • Build succession plans for critical leadership positions.
  • Create a culture of ownership, performance, innovation, integrity, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure timely and transparent reporting to the Chairman and Board.
  • Maintain the highest standards of ethics, integrity, compliance, and corporate responsibility.
  • Drive digital transformation across manufacturing and corporate functions.
  • Introduce ERP, MIS, BI, automation, and data-driven decision-making systems.
  • Establish real-time dashboards for production, sales, finance, procurement, inventory, and profitability.
  • Leverage technology to improve productivity, transparency, and scalability.
  • Serve as the principal executive interface between management and Board of Directors.
  • Present strategic plans, budgets, performance, risks, and investment proposals to the Board.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, banks, investors, regulators, and industry associations.

IMPORTANT ELIGIBILITY NOTE:
Candidates will be considered only from the Steel, Alloys, Lead, Non-Ferrous Metals, Metal Processing, Metal Recycling, Smelting, Refining, or closely related metal industries. Candidates from unrelated industries will not be considered.


Key Responsibilities
1. Vision, Strategy & Business Growth
  • Develop and execute the company's 35 year strategic growth plan in consultation with the Chairman and Board.
  • Identify new business opportunities across lead, lead alloys, recycling, refining, and adjacent industrial sectors.
  • Drive domestic and international market expansion.
  • Evaluate opportunities for capacity expansion, new plants, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and diversification.
  • Build a scalable business model capable of supporting significant future growth.

  • Represent the organization at important industry, commercial, and government forums.
Candidate Profile
Education
  • MBA / PGDM / equivalent qualification from a reputed institution preferred.
  • Engineering, metallurgy, finance, operations, or other relevant technical/business education will be an advantage.
  • Candidates with strong industry experience and exceptional leadership track records may also be considered irrespective of academic specialization.
Experience
  • 20+ years of overall professional experience, with significant experience in senior executive leadership.
  • Proven track record as CEO, Business Head, President, COO, Managing Director, Executive Director, or equivalent senior leadership position.
  • Experience in metals, metallurgy, lead, battery recycling, non-ferrous metals, recycling, manufacturing, industrial products, or related sectors strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a substantial P&L and large-scale operations.
  • Experience in scaling businesses, transforming organizations, or leading companies through significant growth phases.
  • Strong exposure to manufacturing operations, commercial management, international business, and strategic expansion.
