Job Purpose

To provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Engineering & Facilities Management function across Reliance Foundation Hospital, ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted functioning of all engineering systems. The role is responsible for statutory compliance, accreditation readiness (NABH/JCI), infrastructure lifecycle management, sustainability initiatives, and ensuring best-in-class engineering practices aligned with patient safety and clinical excellence.

2. Accountabilities

a. Engineering Operations & Infrastructure Reliability

• Ensure 24/7 availability of critical systems including HVAC, MGPS, electrical systems, DG/UPS, STP/ETP, water systems, lifts, and fire safety systems.
• Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs across all engineering assets.
• Ensure zero disruption to critical care areas (OT, ICU, Emergency, Labs).

b. Statutory, Regulatory & Accreditation Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory regulations (electrical, fire safety, pollution control, biomedical interface, lift inspections, etc.).
• Maintain NABH/JCI-compliant documentation and audit readiness.
• Lead safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness programs.

c. Vendor, AMC & Contractor Governance

• Provide leadership oversight on all engineering vendors, AMC/CMC contracts, and service providers.
• Drive SLA adherence, cost optimization, and vendor performance reviews.
• Ensure strict adherence to hospital safety protocols by all external partners.

d. Infrastructure Maintenance & Asset Lifecycle Management

• Lead lifecycle planning, maintenance strategies, and upgradation of engineering infrastructure.
• Ensure high asset reliability and minimize downtime through proactive interventions.
• Oversee CAFM/helpdesk systems for efficient complaint management and closure.

e. Energy Management & Sustainability Leadership

• Drive hospital-wide energy optimization and sustainability initiatives.
• Lead energy audits, consumption tracking, and cost-saving programs.
• Promote green hospital initiatives aligned with environmental compliance.

f. Projects, Expansion & Commissioning

• Lead and govern all engineering aspects of hospital expansion, renovation, and capex projects.
• Ensure technical due diligence, commissioning, validation, and handover processes.
• Collaborate with architects, consultants, and project teams.

g. Strategic Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration

Partner with clinical and non-clinical teams (Operations, Nursing, Biomedical, Quality, Infection Control).

Ensure engineering readiness for all clinical functions and advanced medical technologies.

Represent engineering in leadership forums and strategic planning discussions.

h. Reporting, Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

Establish dashboards for uptime, compliance, energy, maintenance efficiency, and safety KPIs.

Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.

Drive Lean, Kaizen, and process optimization across engineering services.
