Job summary

Della Group is seeking a capable Head of Engineering & Maintenance for its resort in Lonavala, Maharashtra. You will lead all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring reliable performance of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life-safety systems.

The role requires strong leadership, vendor management, and hands-on oversight of external suppliers. You will drive safety, efficiency, and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high standards across guest areas and back-of-house facilities.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Experience maintaining hotel MEP systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire & life-safety).
• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering or related field.
• 1–15+ years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete Engineering & Maintenance operations of the resort.
• Ensure uninterrupted operation and maintenance of MEP systems and other services.
• Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Supervise engineering staff, contractors, and external service agencies.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, licenses, and inspections.
• Monitor energy, water, fuel costs and drive cost-saving initiatives.
• Prepare annual maintenance budgets, CAPEX proposals, and AMC plans.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, and back-of-house facilities.
• Coordinate with HODs to resolve engineering-related needs promptly.
• Maintain records of equipment, maintenance schedules, and AMC contracts.
• Adhere to SOPs, fire safety standards, and emergency procedures.
• Lead emergency response for critical technical failures.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete Engineering & Maintenance operations of the resort.
• Ensure uninterrupted operation and maintenance of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, DG, STP, WTP, fire & life-safety systems, and other MEP services.
• Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
• Supervise engineering staff, contractors, and external service agencies.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, licenses, and regulatory inspections.
• Monitor energy, water, fuel, and maintenance costs and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Prepare annual maintenance budgets, CAPEX proposals, AMC plans, and engineering reports.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, staff accommodation, and back-of-house facilities.
• Coordinate with all HODs to resolve engineering-related operational requirements promptly.
• Maintain proper records of equipment, maintenance schedules, breakdowns, inventories, and AMC contracts.
• Ensure adherence to hotel engineering SOPs, fire safety standards, and emergency preparedness procedures.
• Lead emergency response for critical technical failures and ensure minimum disruption to resort operations.
