Job summary

Accor is seeking a seasoned Hotel Engineering Manager to oversee the entire engineering and maintenance operations of the property in India. You will ensure the smooth functioning of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and utility systems while driving preventive maintenance programs and energy-saving initiatives.

You will supervise and train the engineering team, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage budgeting and cost control. Prior hospitality experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8–12 years of experience in hotel engineering and maintenance operations.
• Experience in hotel/hospitality environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other hotel utilities.
• Leadership and problem-solving with good communication and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel.
• Ensure smooth functioning of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and utilities.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
• Monitor energy consumption and implement cost-saving initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, fire safety, and policies.
• Maintain hotel infrastructure, guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Respond promptly to engineering-related guest complaints and maintenance requests.
• Prepare and manage the departmental budget with cost control.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and maintenance.
• Oversee renovation projects, equipment installations, and upgrades.
• Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance materials.
• Maintain engineering records and compliance documentation.

Job Description

Oversee the overall engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel.

Ensure the smooth functioning of all electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and utility systems.

Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.

Monitor energy consumption and implement cost-saving and sustainability initiatives.

Monitor utility consumption, equipment performance, and maintenance expenses.

Handle emergencies, equipment breakdowns, and utility failures to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Coordinate with other departments to address maintenance requirements.

Maintain engineering records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.

Implement energy conservation, waste reduction, and environmentally sustainable practices.

Ensure adherence to hotel brand standards and operational quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or a related field.


• Degree/Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institution.


• 8–12 years of relevant experience in hotel engineering and maintenance operations.


• Prior experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.


• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, DG sets, boilers, pumps, and other hotel utilities.


• Good understanding of preventive maintenance, energy management, and safety standards.


• Knowledge of relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.


• Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.


• Good communication and coordination skills.


• Proficiency in MS Office and engineering/maintenance systems is preferred.
