Job summary

Accor is seeking an Engineering & Facilities Manager for a property in Maharashtra. Lead engineering planning, oversee maintenance, and ensure safety and compliance across all hotel facilities.

Drive cross-department coordination to deliver reliable services and guest satisfaction. You will supervise technical teams, manage costs, inspect HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and ensure safety standards and environmental commitments are met.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager to identify major facilities and equipment requirements for the department and property.
• Ensure correct maintenance of all equipment in conjunction with other user departments and stay abreast with advances in surveillance and safety.
• Establish and maintain coordination with all hotel departments to ensure cooperation, productivity, morale and guest service.
• Provide effective support to the team to enable them to deliver efficient services.
• Respond to customer queries by resolving issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Motivate and develop staff to ensure smooth functioning of the department.
• Ensure that the team is trained in all safety provisions.
• Ensure optimal, cost effective use of resources and educate the team on the same.
• Inspect regularly to assess building conditions and installations, including stonework, paint, flooring, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electricals, and related equipment.
• Supervise operations of air-conditioning plant, boilers, pumps, etc.
• Follow proper safety measures and maintain fire detectors, safety systems, and related equipment.
• Coordinate with other departments for preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure proper handling, operation and maintenance of all equipment and water storage levels.
• Maintain safe operation of fire safety equipment and confirm adherence to safety regulations.
• Demonstrate leadership to achieve organizational goals with honesty, integrity, and cultural awareness.
• Accept responsibility, show self-confidence and motivation, and think strategically and creatively.
• Recognize and acknowledge others’ ideas and foster team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Planning

• Assist the General Manager to identify the major facilities and equipment requirements for the department and the property.
• Ensure correct maintenance of all equipment in conjunction with the other user departments & stay abreast with the technological advances in surveillance & safety of equipment.

People Management

• Establish and maintain seamless co-ordination & co-operation with all departments of the hotel to ensure maximum cooperation, productivity, morale and guest service.
• Provide effective support to the team to enable them to deliver effective and efficient services.
• Respond to customer queries by resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Motivate and develop staff to ensure smooth functioning of the department.

• Ensure that the team is trained in all safety provisions.

Financial Management

• Ensure optimal, cost effective use of the resources and educate the team on the same.

Operational Management

• Inspect regularly to assess the state of the buildings and of the installations. This applies to the inspections of : all stonework, brickwork, paint works, coating, facing, covering, flooring, plumbing and carpentry, and questions concerning the heating, air conditioning, hot water tank as well as electrical problems relevant to high and low current (telephone, television, neon signs, kitchen equipment, vacuum cleaners, etc.), questions concerning refrigeration (refrigerating unit) and the functioning of elevators.
• To supervise the operations of Air-conditioning plant, boilers, pumps etc.
• Follow proper safety measures.
• Check and ensure that the temperature of cold stores, public areas etc. are maintained as per the specifications.
• Ensure that all complaints are recorded and attended to promptly ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Coordinate with other departments for preventive maintenance of the equipment.
• Check and ensure proper handling, operation and maintenance of all the equipment.
• Ensure that desired level of water is maintained in water storage tanks.
• Check and ensure the working condition of fire detectors, fire fighting systems, transformers, electrical systems, etc.
• Check and ensure that proper safety measures have been adhered to and also ensure maintenance of all fire fighting equipment

• Respects the hotel's commitments to the "Environment Charter" (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc) and meets Ibis' ISO 14001 environmental commitments as applicable to the role, if the hotel is involved in the programme.
