Job summary

Neilsoft is seeking a Team Lead / Checker for precast detailing to join our engineering services team in Pune. You will prepare, review, and validate precast shop drawings, reinforcement details, and connections to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.

With 5-10 years of relevant experience, you will mentor junior detailers, coordinate with structural, architectural and MEP teams, and help deliver quality drawings on schedule for global projects.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in Precast Detailing and Quality Checking.
• Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
• Knowledge of BIM standards and LOD requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check precast shop drawings and fabrication drawings.
• Detail reinforcement, including bar sizes, spacing, laps, anchorage, openings, and cover.
• Verify precast connections, lifting anchors, embeds, and erection requirements.
• Check dimensions, levels, quantities against design documents.
• Coordinate with structural, architectural, and MEP teams.
• Provide QA/QC checks on drawings and BIM models.
• Maintain revision history and ensure latest information is used.
• Mentor junior detailers and modelers.

Job Role

The Precast Detailer / Checker will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and checking precast shop drawings, fabrication drawings, reinforcement details to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project specifications and client standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed precast shop and fabrication drawings based on structural and architectural design information.
• Prepare detailed drawings for:
  • Precast beams
  • Columns
  • Walls/panels
  • Slabs
  • Stairs
  • Other precast components
• Prepare and check reinforcement detailing, including bar sizes, spacing, laps, anchorage, embeds, openings, and concrete cover.
• Detail and verify precast connections, joints, lifting anchors, inserts, embeds, and erection requirements.
• Check dimensions, levels, member IDs, quantities, and other drawing information against approved design documents.
• Review coordination between Precast, Structural, Architectural, and MEP requirements.
• Identify clashes, discrepancies, missing information, and constructability issues.
• Perform independent QA/QC checks on drawings and BIM models before submission.
• Ensure all client/engineer comments are incorporated correctly in revised drawings and models.
• Maintain drawing revision history and ensure the latest approved information is used.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, BIM coordinators, project managers, and production/erection teams.
• Provide technical guidance to junior detailers and modelers.
• Support the team in resolving complex detailing and constructability issues.
• Ensure deliverables meet project timelines, quality standards, and client requirements.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of precast concrete construction and detailing.
• Good knowledge of structural drawings and engineering concepts.
• Knowledge of reinforcement detailing and bar bending requirements.
• Understanding of precast production and erection processes.
• Knowledge of precast connections, inserts, embeds, lifting systems, and joints.
• Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Understanding of project-specific BIM standards and LOD requirements.
• Knowledge of international standards/codes will be an advantage.
