Job summary

Hi-q Design & Detailing in Odisha is seeking a Checker to reduce errors, verify drawings, and ensure deliverables meet contract specs and industry standards. You will coordinate with modeling and editing teams, guiding others to achieve high-quality results.

Responsibilities include checking various drawings, preparing RFIs, maintaining logs, and ensuring QA/QC procedures. Strong TEKLA Structures knowledge and knowledge of AISC/CISC standards are required; excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• BE/ B.Tech/ Diploma in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Experience in Structural Steel Detailing using 3D modelling program.
• TEKLA Structures experience is mandatory.
• Experience in Miscellaneous Steel is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of AISC & CISC Standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

• Check Single part drawings, Shop Drawings, GA Drawings, Erection Designs, and related Reports and NC Files.
• Check GA and Assembly drawings against contract drawings.
• Prepare RFIs and maintain up-to-date drawing logs.
• Identify and finalize RFIs in coordination with Modelers.
• Mark clouds in sheets wherever required after discussion with relevant personnel.
• Guide Modelers and Editors to achieve desired results.
• Complete projects within target dates while maintaining high service quality.
• Handle both commercial and industrial jobs effectively.
• Practice and adhere to all QA/QC Procedures.
• Ensure all sheets are legible and meet quality standards.
• Keep track of Hold items and update status in a timely manner.
• Assume responsibility for the project alongside the team members.
• Coordinate with internal staff (Modeler/Editor) and prepare RFIs or queries as needed.
