Job summary

KPIT is seeking a CFD engineering specialist in Pune to drive end-to-end thermal CFD analyses for Commercial and Passenger Vehicles. You will work on underhood thermal management, cooling module performance, and battery/e-motor cooling concepts, collaborating with stakeholders across engineering and customers.

The role requires strong CFD modeling skills, proficiency in ANSA/TAITherm/STAR-CCM+/AMESIM/GT-Suite, and a solid background in thermal-fluid sciences within the automotive sector.

Qualifications

• MTech/MS/ME in Mechanical or automotive engineering with automotive experience.
• Advanced courses/diploma in Thermal Management in ICE, xEV with 1D and 3D methodology.
• Post-Graduate in mechanical domain from reputed institute with good academic record.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end CFD analysis for Commercial & Passenger Vehicles (underhood thermal management, cooling module performance, external aerodynamics, battery and e-motor thermal management).
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders to gather input data and present analysis results.
• Carry out simulations and review reports with stakeholders and suggest product improvements.
• Develop cooling strategies to meet product specifications.
• Engage with customers and conduct reviews with cross-functional teams.

Job Description:

• Work on end-to-end CFD analysis for Commercial & Passenger Vehicles like Underhood Thermal Management, Front end Air Cooling, Cooling Module performance prediction, External Aerodynamics, Water Wading Simulation, Battery & E-Motor Thermal Management.
• Interact with internal & external key stakeholders to gather required input data.
• Perform simulation and review analysis report with key stakeholders & suggest Product Improvements.
• Develop cooling strategy to meet product specified requirement.

Mandatory Skills

• Experience in Vehicle level & Component level CFD analysis. Thermal modeling using 1D simulation Tool
• Candidate should be well versed with fundamental fluid mechanics and heat transfer concepts like internal and external flows.Aerodynamic profiling, Viscous and non-viscous flow, Compressible/incompressible flow, boundary layer concept, thermodynamic laws, types of heat transfer and preferably applied to automobiles
• Proficient in computational fluid dynamics, its grid generation and should be experience in CFD model generation
• Cooling component sizing and selection
• Understanding of automobile electrical & electronics
• Basic Knowledge in project and requirements management
• Good English skills in both written and verbal (required)
