Job summary

Tyro Ventures in Mumbai seeks a Category Manager to lead end-to-end management of the Wets category, driving growth, profitability, product development, sourcing, pricing, and market strategy.

You will analyze market trends, manage costing, pricing, supplier relationships, and lead SKU optimization across markets; collaborate with marketing, sales, operations, culinary, and other teams on category initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in category management within FMCG sectors.
• Strong analytical skills with vendor management experience.
• Ability to translate market insights into category initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze market trends, competition, customer requirements, and product assortment across sauces, dressings, spreads.
• Manage product costing, pricing, margins, working capital, and Make vs. Buy evaluations.
• Develop sourcing strategies and identify reliable suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery.
• Manage strategic vendor relationships and drive supplier development.
• Develop product specifications based on market trends and business requirements.
• Lead SKU optimization and category growth projects across key markets.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, operations, culinary, and other teams on category initiatives.
• Support marketing content, customer initiatives, and promotional activities.
• Train culinary and sales teams on product applications and category knowledge.
• Coordinate with operations and vendors to ensure timely and compliant delivery.
• Monitor category budgets and ensure profitability and growth targets are achieved.
