Responsibilities

• Ensure correct pricing, making charges, taxes (GST) and schemes are applied.
• Process payments through cash, cards, UPI, transfers and approved vouchers.
• Verify authenticity and approvals for high-value transactions.
• Count and reconcile cash at start and end of shift.
• Reconcile cash, card and bank receipts with ERP daily and report discrepancies.
• Maintain documentation of invoices, credit notes and scheme redemptions.
• Coordinate with sales & inventory for accurate billing details and codes.
• Verify internal vouchers and approvals before discounts or adjustments.
• Prepare daily sales and payment reports for Accounts Department.

Role Summary

The Store Cashier is responsible for accurate billing, secure handling of high-value transactions, and maintaining strict financial discipline while ensuring a smooth and professional checkout experience for customers in a jewellery retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Billing

• Generate accurate invoices through the POS/ERP system for jewellery, diamonds, and other products.
• Ensure correct pricing, making charges, discounts, taxes (GST), and schemes are applied.

2. Handling High-Value Payments

• Process payments through cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, bank transfers, and approved vouchers.
• Verify authenticity and approvals for high-value transactions.

3. Cash Management

• Maintain proper custody of the cash drawer and ensure no cash shortages.
• Count and reconcile cash at the start and end of the shift.

4. Daily Financial Reconciliation

• Reconcile cash, card, UPI, and bank receipts with ERP sales reports daily.
• Immediately report discrepancies to the Store Manager or Accounts Department.

5. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain proper documentation of invoices, exchange bills, credit notes, advance receipts, and scheme redemptions.
• Ensure compliance with GST billing norms and internal financial controls.

6. Coordination with Sales & Inventory Team

• Coordinate with sales staff for accurate billing details and product codes.
• Ensure proper tagging and invoice matching for jewellery items being delivered to customers.

7. Vendor / Internal Voucher Verification

• Verify internal vouchers, approvals, and authorization for discounts or adjustments before processing.

8. Daily Reporting

• Prepare daily sales and payment reports for submission to the Accounts Department.

9. Security & Confidentiality

• Follow strict security procedures for handling cash and financial documents.
• Maintain confidentiality of sales data, customer information, and financial records.

10. Additional Responsibilities

• Assist in store audits, stock checks, and internal compliance requirements when required.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Store Manager or Management.
