Job summary

Focus Management Consultants is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Executive with 3+ years of experience to manage day-to-day accounting for a luxury jewellery business in Walkeshwar, South Mumbai. The role requires hands-on ERP usage and strong knowledge of Tally, GST, TDS, invoicing, banking and stock accounting.

The ideal candidate will handle MIS, banking reconciliations and stock records, and collaborate with external accountants for statutory compliance.

Qualifications

• B.Com / Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting.
• ERP / accounting software experience - Mandatory.
• Tally / Tally Prime - Preferred.
• Good knowledge of GST and TDS.
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• Experience in bank and ledger reconciliation.
• Experience handling inventory/stock accounting.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Executive with 3+ years of relevant experience to manage day-to-day accounting operations for our luxury jewellery business.

The candidate must have hands-on experience with any ERP/accounting software and strong knowledge of Tally, GST, TDS, reconciliations, invoicing, banking and inventory accounting.

Experience working with jewellery-specific accounting/ERP software will be highly preferred.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with high-value transactions, jewellery stock records and confidential financial information.

Key Responsibilities

1. Day-to-Day Accounting

• Manage day-to-day accounting entries and bookkeeping.
• Record sales, purchases, receipts, payments, expenses and journal entries.
• Maintain customer and vendor ledgers.
• Prepare and verify sales and purchase invoices.
• Handle debit notes, credit notes and other accounting documentation.
• Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the ERP/accounting system.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.

2. ERP / Accounting Software Mandatory

• Hands-on experience with any ERP or accounting software is mandatory.
• Should be comfortable independently entering, reviewing and extracting accounting data from an ERP system.
• Experience with Tally / Tally Prime is preferred.
• Should be able to manage sales, purchase, payment, receipt, ledger and journal transactions through the software.
• Should have the ability to learn and adapt to the company's existing ERP/software quickly.

3. Jewellery Software – Preferred

• Candidates who have worked with jewellery-specific ERP/accounting/inventory software will be strongly preferred.
• Experience with software used for jewellery billing, inventory, stock management, gold/diamond accounting or jewellery sales tracking will be an advantage.
• Should understand the importance of maintaining accurate records for jewellery items, weights, values and stock movements.
• Experience in reconciling physical jewellery stock with system records will be an added advantage.

Jewellery software experience is preferred but not mandatory if the candidate has strong ERP and accounting experience.

4. GST & TDS

• Assist with preparation and filing of GST returns.
• Ensure correct GST accounting for sales and purchase transactions.
• Handle TDS calculations, deductions and related documentation.
• Maintain GST and TDS records.
• Coordinate with the external CA/accountant for statutory compliance.
• Provide required information and documentation for audits.

5. Banking & Reconciliation

• Perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile customer and vendor accounts.
• Track outstanding receivables and payables.
• Record bank receipts, payments and other transactions.
• Assist with cash and cheque accounting.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

6. Jewellery Stock & Inventory Accounting

• Maintain accurate accounting records related to Gold, Diamond, Polki, Rosecut and Antique jewellery.
• Assist in reconciliation of jewellery stock and accounting records.
• Verify jewellery-related sales and purchase transactions.
• Coordinate with the sales/store team regarding billing and stock-related entries.
• Assist in physical stock verification and reconciliation.
• Ensure system records accurately reflect jewellery transactions and stock movements.

7. MIS & Reporting

• Prepare regular MIS reports related to:
• Sales
• Purchases
• Expenses
• Receivables
• Payables
• Stock / Inventory
• Bank reconciliation
• Provide financial reports and information to management as required.
• Identify discrepancies and highlight them to the management.

Required Qualifications

• B.Com / Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting.
• Strong practical knowledge of accounting principles.
• ERP / accounting software experience - Mandatory.
• Tally / Tally Prime - Preferred.
• Good knowledge of GST and TDS.
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• Experience in bank and ledger reconciliation.
• Good understanding of sales and purchase accounting.
• Experience handling inventory/stock accounting will be an advantage.
