Job summary

Sberbank India, New Delhi-based, is seeking a Forex Cashier to manage cash/vault operations, execute foreign currency trades and ensure RBI/FEMA compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cashier in Banking, NBFC, Money Exchange, Forex or Financial Services.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience handling foreign currencies (USD, EUR, AED).
• Practical experience in cash handling, balancing, reconciliation and transaction processing.
• Basic understanding of Accounting and Finance principles.
• Knowledge of Forex documentation and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day cashier and foreign currency exchange transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Manage cash receipts, payments, cash counting, balancing and daily cash reconciliation.
• Handle foreign currencies, including USD, EUR, AED and other major currencies.

• Verify customer details and documentation before processing transactions.
• Maintain records of all cash and foreign currency transactions.
• Ensure proper cash and vault management and end-of-day balancing.
• Prepare and maintain Forex documentation and operational reports.
• Follow KYC/AML, RBI/FEMA and internal compliance requirements.
• Identify discrepancies and escalate issues to the appropriate authority.
• Coordinate with internal teams, branches and customers for timely processing.
• Support audits with complete transaction documentation.

Sberbank is currently looking for Cashier.This role is a Delhi-based Forex Cashier position at Sberbank to manage cash/vault operations, execute foreign currency trades, and ensure strict RBI/FEMA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day cashier and foreign currency exchange transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Manage cash receipts, payments, cash counting, balancing and daily cash reconciliation.
• Handle foreign currencies, including USD, EUR, AED and other major currencies, as applicable.
• Execute foreign currency buying and selling transactions in accordance with approved rates and internal procedures.
• Verify customer details, transaction information and supporting documentation before processing transactions.
• Maintain accurate records of all cash and foreign currency transactions.
• Ensure proper cash and vault management, including physical cash handling, denomination control and end-of-day balancing.
• Prepare and maintain Forex documentation, transaction records and operational reports.
• Follow applicable KYC/AML, RBI/FEMA and internal compliance requirements related to foreign exchange transactions.
• Identify and elevate discrepancies, suspicious transactions, cash shortages/excesses and operational issues to the appropriate authority.
• Coordinate with internal teams, branches and customers to ensure smooth and timely transaction processing.
• Support internal and external audits by maintaining complete and accurate transaction documentation.
• Ensure adherence to Sberbank India’s operational, risk, compliance and control standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cashier, preferably in Banking, NBFC, Money Exchange, Forex or Financial Services.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience handling foreign currencies, preferably including USD, EUR and AED.
• Practical experience in cash handling, cash balancing, reconciliation and transaction processing.
• Basic understanding of Accounting and Finance principles.
• Knowledge of Forex documentation and regulatory requirements will be an added advantage.
• Experience with KYC/AML, RBI/FEMA or other applicable foreign exchange regulations will be preferred.
• Strong numerical and reconciliation skills with high attention to detail.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a controlled banking environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic banking/financial systems.
• Prior experience in Banking, NBFC, Money Exchange or Foreign Exchange is preferred.
