Job summary

Akasa Air in Delhi requires a cargo operations professional to manage efficient handling and processing of air freight. The role ensures compliance with Cargo Operations Manual, safety procedures, and accurate documentation across all cargo movements.

The candidate will coordinate with cargo terminal operators, manage manifest accuracy, and communicate discrepancies as needed. 1–5 years in air cargo operations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in generating reports in Excel and analyzing data.
• Experience coordinating with cargo terminal operators.
• 1–5 years of experience in air cargo operations in any domestic airline or cargo/logistics firm.

Responsibilities

• Handle cargo operations efficiently at the assigned airport.
• Follow Cargo Operations Manual and applicable regulations and standards.
• Ensure adherence to safety, security and SOPs for cargo operations.
• Process cargo acceptance as per laid procedures.
• Properly manifest cargo as per sales planning.
• Direct incoming cargo to consignee and issue discrepancy messages when required.
• Dispatch cargo from warehouse with relevant documents.
• Generate accurate documentation and reports.
• Ensure segregation of cargo shipments and trolley setups for flights.
• Load/unload cargo from aircraft safely and efficiently.
• Send messages to destinations for cargo location and loaded documents.

Job description

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for efficient handling of cargo operations at respective Airport
• Conduct cargo operations in accordance with applicable regulations and standards as laid down in Cargo Operations Manual
• Ensure that all safety / security and SOPs with regard to cargo operations are taken care
• Ensure cargo acceptance is done as per the laid down procedure
• Ensure cargo is properly manifested as per sales planning
• Ensure incoming cargo is properly segregated and delivered to consignee and ensure proper messages are send for discrepancy if any
• Ensure cargo is dispatched from warehouse properly with all relevant documents
• Ensure proper documentation and reports are generated
• Ensure proper segregation of cargo shipment/ trolley make up are done for flights
• Ensure cargo is properly loaded/un-loaded from aircrafts
• Ensure proper messages are forwarded to various destinations for location of cargo and documents etc loaded inside the cargo compartment

Key Skills & Experience

• Effective Written and Verbal Communication Skills
• Knowledge of computer, able to generate various reports in Excel
• Close working contacts with cargo terminal operators
• 1 - 5 year of experience in air cargo operations in any domestic airline or Cargo Logistic company

Desired Qualification

• Higher Secondary Education (Graduate preferred)
• Knowledge of basic Cargo and DGR certification
