Job summary

NEXUS CONSULTING SOLUTIONS is seeking an Academic Counsellor – Study Abroad to guide students through overseas education journeys. You will counsel on programmes, universities, destinations and assist with applications, documents and visas.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in study abroad or EdTech sales, strong communication, and the ability to meet counselling and revenue targets. Immediate joiners preferred.

Position: Academic Counsellor – Study Abroad

Experience: 1+ Years in Study Abroad / Overseas Education Counselling / EdTech Sales

About the Role

We are looking for dynamic, passionate and target-orientated academic counsellors to join our study abroad team. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and counselling skills with the ability to guide students and parents throughout their overseas education journey.

Counsel students and parents regarding study abroad programmes, universities, courses and destinations.

Understand students’ academic background, career goals and financial preferences.

Guide students on suitable courses, universities and countries.

Handle student enquiries, follow-ups and counselling sessions through calls, meetings and digital channels.

Convert qualified leads into successful admissions by effectively handling objections and queries.

Assist students throughout the application and admission process.

Provide guidance regarding SOPs, LORs, scholarships, financial documentation and visa processes.

Build strong relationships with students and ensure a smooth admission journey.

Achieve individual and team-wise counselling, admission and revenue targets.

Maintain accurate records of student interactions and follow-ups in CRM.

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in study abroad/overseas education counselling/EdTech sales.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent counselling, negotiation and objection-handling skills.

Ability to work in a target-driven environment.

Knowledge of overseas education processes and universities will be an advantage.

Experience in high-ticket B2C sales or education counselling will be preferred.

Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period are preferred.
