Job summary

Lumax Auto Technologies Ltd invites a senior Project & Capex Manager to lead large-scale capital projects across engineering and manufacturing. You’ll own budgeting, investment appraisal, and cross-functional governance to ensure financial discipline and value delivery.

The role requires 18+ years in project management with hands-on experience in CapEx budgeting, ROI/NPV analysis, RFQ negotiation, and risk/compliance. You’ll bridge finance, engineering, and regional units to maximise value.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of experience in project management and capital expenditure projects.
• Experience developing CapEx budgets and calculating ROI/NPV.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams across finance, engineering and regional units.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting and planning: devise the annual CapEx budget aligned with strategic goals and forecast cash flows.
• Investment appraisal: assess capital proposals using ROI, NPV, and payback calculations.
• Project monitoring and control: track progress against timelines and budgets, prepare variance reports and take corrective actions.
• Procurement and negotiation: work with technical and commercial teams to evaluate vendor quotes and negotiate contracts for cost efficiency.
• Financial governance and compliance: ensure proper accounting of capital assets and adherence to approvals and regulatory requirements.
• Cross-functional collaboration: act as a bridge between finance, engineering and regional units to align CapEx strategies.

Role & responsibilities

1. Budgeting & Planning

• Devising the annual capital expenditure budget in alignment with strategic corporate goals, and forecasting project cash flows.

2. Investment Appraisal

• Assessing proposals for capital investments by calculating metrics like Return on Investment (ROI), Net Present Value (NPV), and payback periods.

3. Project Monitoring & Control

• Tracking project progress against timelines and budgets. They prepare variance reports and initiate corrective measures to prevent cost overruns and budget breaches.

4. Procurement & Negotiation

• Partnering with technical and commercial teams to evaluate vendor quotations, benchmark costs, and drive financial negotiations for optimal cost-efficiency.

5. Financial Governance & Compliance

• Ensuring proper accounting of capital assets per regulatory standards and ensuring spending adheres to internal approval processes and statutory requirements.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Acting as the bridge between finance, engineering, and regional business units to align CapEx strategies and drive value engineering across large-scale projects.

Preferred candidate profile

A Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial), Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Finance alongside 18+ years of experience in project management and proven track record of handling high value capital expenditure projects.

Working experience of develop and maintain CapEx budgets, calculate financial viability (ROI, NPV, Payback Period) and ensure projects stay on track financially,.
