Siemens Energy, Inc. seeks a CAM Engineer to develop and optimize CNC programs for turning, milling, and mill-turn centers using UG/NX. You will verify programs, document SOPs, and support postprocessor debugging to boost production quality on the shop floor.
You should have a mechanical/industrial engineering background, hands-on CAM programming experience, and familiarity with G/M codes, cutting tools, and Vericut. Teamwork and proactive problem solving are essential.
As a CAM Engineer, you will be a key member of our Manufacturing Engineering Services team, responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs for complex components. This role involves leveraging advanced CAM software, specifically UG/NX, to translate engineering designs into precise, efficient, and safe machining instructions for a variety of CNC machines including turning, milling, and mill-turn centers. Your primary impact will be on the shop floor, where your well‑documented and verified programs will drive production quality and efficiency. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing manufacturing processes, reducing costs, and enhancing part quality. Your expertise will also be crucial in debugging postprocessors and documenting standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and excellence across manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in mechanical or industrial engineering, with significant hands‑on experience in CAM programming. You are adept at interpreting complex technical drawings, knowledgeable in G/M codes and cutting tools, and skilled in using NC verification software like Vericut. A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem‑solving are essential for success in this role.
