AxiDraft in Mohali/Chandigarh invites a motivated Design Engineer to join our office-based team. You will perform 3D part modelling and assemblies in SolidWorks, create weldment and fabrication models, and draft sheet metal components with AutoCAD. We value attention to detail, professional communication in English, and the ability to work on real projects with overseas clients. Salary is ₹30,000–₹50,000 per month with yearly reviews and growth opportunities.

We are a growing engineering design services firm working with overseas clients in the fencing, fabrication, and mechanical design industry.

We are looking for a motivated Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks and AutoCAD skills, good attention to detail, and a professional attitude towards work.

This role is suitable for someone who wants to work on real projects, take responsibility, improve their design skills, and grow long-term in mechanical design.

Experience Required

• 3–5 years of practical experience in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Experience in fabrication, sheet metal, weldments, mechanical design, or similar industry will be preferred

Salary

• ₹30,000 – ₹50,000 per month
• Salary will depend on skills, experience, and practical test performance
• Yearly salary review based on performance, skills, responsibility, and consistency

Role & Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work on:

• 3D part modelling and assemblies in SolidWorks
• Weldment and fabrication models
• Sheet metal components
• Manufacturing and fabrication drawings
• General arrangement drawings
• AutoCAD 2D drafting and layout work
• Updating and cleaning up AutoCAD drawings received from clients
• Preparing and revising technical drawings based on markups and client comments
• BOMs and drawing documentation
• Updating existing models, drawings, templates, and project files
• Understanding client markups, comments, and revision instructions
• Coordinating internally to complete work accurately and on time

Required Technical Skills

The candidate should have good working knowledge of:

• SolidWorks part modelling
• SolidWorks assemblies and assembly mates
• SolidWorks weldments
• SolidWorks sheet metal
• SolidWorks drawing detailing
• AutoCAD 2D drafting
• AutoCAD layout preparation
• AutoCAD drawing cleanup and revisions
• Manufacturing drawings
• Fabrication drawings
• BOM tables
• Sheet formats and drawing templates
• Basic understanding of GD&T will be preferred
• Good eye for detail in both modelling and drafting

Communication Skills

Since we work with overseas clients, the candidate should be comfortable with:

• Understanding client emails and instructions in English
• Basic spoken English

• Clear communication within the team
• Asking the right questions when instructions are not clear
