Job summary

The role focuses on meeting KPI targets, implementing lean improvements, mentoring operators, ensuring safety standards, and delivering accurate shift reports to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily manufacturing operations on the cable assembly line.
• Lead a diverse team of operators; drive performance and accountability.
• Implement lean strategies to reduce waste and downtime.
• Coordinate with maintenance, logistics, and QA for smooth execution.
• Ensure safety protocols and OSHA/local regulations are followed.
• Prepare and present daily shift reports on output, scrap, and efficiency.

Operations & Productivity

• Workflow Management: Orchestrate daily operations by assigning tasks and engineering shift schedules to maximize throughput.
• Target Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly production KPIs while maintaining strict deadlines.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify operational bottlenecks and implement lean strategies to minimize waste, downtime, and overhead.
• Resource Management: Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Production Planners to ensure seamless raw material availability.

Leadership & People Management

• Team Supervision: Lead, mentor, and coach a diverse team of operators to foster a culture of high performance and accountability.
• Training & Development: Facilitate onboarding and deliver ongoing training on production techniques, safety protocols, and SOPs.
• Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and manage conflict resolution or disciplinary actions.
• Labor Coordination: Oversee attendance, time-keeping, and strategic labor allocation across rotating shifts to ensure full coverage.

Quality & Safety

• Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous product inspections and monitor output to ensure 100% compliance with company and customer specifications.
• Safety Leadership: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols (OSHA/local regulations) to mitigate risks and maintain a zero-incident workplace.
• Asset Management: Coordinate with the maintenance department to schedule preventive maintenance and minimize unplanned equipment downtime.

Reporting & Communication

• Data-Driven Analysis: Track and analyze production metrics to identify trends and execute data-backed process improvements.
• Operational Reporting: Prepare comprehensive daily shift reports regarding output, scrap rates, and labor efficiency for senior leadership.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between Production, Maintenance, Logistics, and Quality Assurance to ensure departmental alignment.
