Job summary

Tecnicas Reunidas invites an experienced civil/structural engineer to lead and contribute to power plant projects in the Bengaluru area. The role requires ownership of structural calculations, codes compliance, and effective collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will mentor engineers, review deliverables, and drive continuous improvement in engineering standards within a dynamic EPC environment. Fluency in technical English is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Masters degree or advanced specialization in structural engineering, construction, or related disciplines valued.
• 10–15 years in civil/structural engineering within consultancy, EPC, or construction.
• Last 4+ years on Power Plant projects (CCPP, Thermal, Cogeneration, or Renewable).
• Experience leading or significantly contributing to medium/large multidisciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead or oversee development of structural calculations, studies, specifications, and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and client requirements (Eurocodes, project regs).
• Review/approve engineering documentation by junior/mid-level engineers.
• Mentor junior team members and coordinate across disciplines.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, piping, architectural teams for integrated designs.
• Participate in client meetings and design reviews as technical rep.
• Manage technical risks and support planning, effort estimation, workload distribution.
• Drive continuous improvement of standards, tools, and methodologies.

ROLE SUMMARY

Around 10 to 15 years of experience in civil/structural engineering within engineering consultancy, EPC companies, or construction environments. At least last 4 years dedicated to Power Plant projects. Experience in Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP), Thermal Power Plants, Cogeneration Plants, or Renewable Energy facilities. Proven experience in leading or significantly contributing to medium and large-scale multidisciplinary projects. Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). A Masters degree or advanced specialization in structural engineering, construction, or related disciplines will be highly valued

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, oversee and/or preparation the development of structural calculations, technical studies, specifications, and engineering deliverables.


• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements (e.g., Eurocodes and project-specific regulations).


• Review and approve engineering documentation produced by junior and mid-level engineers.


• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members..


• Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, piping, architectural, etc.) to ensure integrated and consistent design solutions.


• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions, acting as a technical representative when required.


• Manage technical risks and contribute to problem-solving during project execution. Support project planning from a technical perspective, including effort estimation and workload distribution.


• Drive continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and methodologies within the department.

TECHNICAL SKILL

• Strong technical expertise in structural and civil engineering design.


• High analytical and problem-solving capability. Leadership skills and ability to mentor and develop engineers.


• Strong decision-making and responsibility in technical matters. Excellent communication and coordination skills in multidisciplinary environments.


• Ability to manage priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.


• High attention to quality, safety, and compliance standards.


• Design and review of: Turbine and Generator foundations, Boiler supporting structures and HRSG structures.


• High level of English (C1C2), with fluency in technical communication, reporting, and client interaction.


• Extensive experience with structural design and analysis tools: STAAD.Pro , AP 2000.


• Other advanced structural tools as applicable. Strong command of Microsoft Excel for advanced engineering calculations and project control.
