Job summary

Ericsson GmbH in India is seeking a Telecom Billing L2 Production Support Specialist to ensure seamless billing and invoicing operations. You will monitor cycles, resolve incidents, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to maintain service continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, or related discipline.
• Hands-on Telecom Billing or Application Production Support experience.
• Strong knowledge of telecom billing/invoicing; Ericsson billing experience preferred.
• Experience with IBA or equivalent telecom billing app, including Windows.
• End-to-end billing lifecycle knowledge.
• Strong SQL skills with Oracle/MS SQL for validation and troubleshooting.
• Unix/Linux commands, shell scripting, file handling and log analysis.
• Experience with batch processing, job scheduling, monitoring and production troubleshooting.
• 24x7 production support experience; ITIL processes knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 production and operational support for telecom billing and invoicing systems.
• Monitor billing cycles, bill generation, invoice generation, validation and archival.
• Troubleshoot job failures, processing delays, data discrepancies, and integration issues.
• Analyze application logs, DB records, input/output files, and job status for root cause.
• Perform restarts, reprocessing, reconciliation, recovery and data-validation activities.
• Monitor batch jobs, schedulers, FTP/SFTP transfers, and interfaces.
• Use SQL and logs for issue analysis and billing-data validation.
• Handle incidents and service requests within SLAs; coordinate with teams.
• Support changes, releases and post-deployment validation.
• Prepare RCA documents, SOPs and troubleshooting guides.
• Identify automation opportunities for operation improvements.

About the Opportunity

Ericsson is looking for a Telecom Billing L2 Production Support Specialist to support billing and invoicing operations. The role involves 24x7 production support, billing-cycle monitoring, incident resolution, application troubleshooting, and coordination with technical and business stakeholders.

What You Will Do

• Provide L2 production and operational support for telecom billing and invoicing systems.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly billing cycles, including bill generation, final billing, invoice generation, validation, archival, and downstream processing.
• Troubleshoot job failures, processing delays, invoice issues, data discrepancies, and integration failures.
• Analyze application logs, database records, input/output files, and job execution status to identify root cause and recovery actions.
• Perform approved job restarts, reprocessing, reconciliation, recovery, and data-validation activities.
• Monitor batch jobs, schedulers, FTP/SFTP transfers, and upstream/downstream interfaces.
• Use SQL, application logs, files, and operational tools for issue analysis and billing-data validation.
• Handle incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs and participate in critical incident support.
• Coordinate with L3/L4 application, database, infrastructure, vendor, business, and other stakeholder teams.
• Support approved changes, releases, and post-deployment validation.
• Prepare RCA documents, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge articles.
• Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Relevant hands-on experience in Telecom Billing or Application Production Support.
• Strong knowledge of telecom billing and invoicing processes; Ericsson billing experience is preferred.
• Experience with Interactive Billing Application (IBA) or an equivalent telecom billing application, including Windows-based applications.
• Good understanding of the end-to-end billing lifecycle.
• Strong SQL skills with experience in Oracle and/or MS SQL for validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux commands, shell scripting, file handling, and log analysis.
• Experience with batch processing, job scheduling, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
• Understanding of file-based integrations, FTP/SFTP, and system interfaces.
• Experience in a 24x7 production support environment.
• Knowledge of ITIL, Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
• Strong analytical, communication, troubleshooting, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Competencies

• Experience supporting high-volume, business-critical telecom billing operations.
• Ability to work independently, manage escalations, perform RCA, and operate effectively under pressure.
