Role Description

The Business Head – IPP Renewable Energy will lead the Independent Power Producer (IPP) business vertical, overseeing strategy, growth, and profitability for solar and related renewable energy projects. This full-time, on-site role is based in New Delhi and involves identifying market opportunities, developing business plans, and driving project pipelines from origination through execution. The role includes building and managing key partnerships, leading commercial negotiations, and collaborating with technical, finance, and legal teams to structure bankable IPP projects. The Business Head will support investor and lender relationships, monitor portfolio performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. This position also involves leading a multidisciplinary team, setting performance goals, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in renewable energy, particularly solar IPP business models, project development, and power sector regulations.
• Proficiency in commercial and financial analysis, including project financing, PPA structuring, tariffs, and investment returns.
• Experience in business development, stakeholder management, and negotiation with utilities, large corporates, and institutional partners.
• Skills in strategic planning, portfolio management, and scaling operations in fast-growing organizations.
• Proven leadership capabilities, including team management, cross-functional collaboration, and decision-making in complex environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and external partners.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy, business, finance, or a related field; a postgraduate degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
• Prior experience in IPP or utility-scale renewable energy in India is highly desirable, including exposure to New Delhi/NCR markets.
