Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in banking payments and SWIFT solutions.
• Strong understanding of payment processing and financial messaging.
• Experience with SWIFT Alliance products and ISO 20022 standards.
• Knowledge of correspondent banking operations.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders.
• Analyse existing payment and messaging processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and solution designs.
• Conduct gap analysis and recommend appropriate SWIFT solutions.
• Design and configure SWIFT payment and messaging solutions.
• Support implementation of SWIFT FIN, SWIFTNet, SAA, SAG, and ISO 20022 migrations.
• Define message mapping, validations, business rules, and workflows.
• Work with MT103, MT202, MT202 COV, MT940/942, MT950, and MX messages.
• Collaborate with business users, operations, technology, and external vendors.
• Prepare functional test scenarios and test cases; support SIT/UAT and production deployment.

Functional Business Analyst SWIFT

Role Summary

The Functional Solution Consultant will be responsible for designing, analysing, and implementing SWIFT-based payment and messaging solutions across banking and financial services environments. The role requires strong knowledge of SWIFT standards, payment processing, financial messaging flows, business requirements gathering, solution design, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Functional Analysis

• Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders.
• Analyse existing payment and messaging processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and solution designs.
• Conduct gap analysis and recommend appropriate SWIFT solutions.

SWIFT Solution Design

• Design and configure SWIFT payment and messaging solutions.
• Support implementation of:
• SWIFT FIN
• SWIFTNet
• SWIFT Alliance Access (SAA)
• SWIFT Alliance Gateway (SAG)
• ISO 20022 migration initiatives
• Define message mapping, validations, business rules, and workflows.

Payments & Messaging

• Work with message types such as:
• MT103
• MT202
• MT202 COV
• MT940/942
• MT950
• MX payment messages
• Support cross-border payments, correspondent banking, treasury, and cash management solutions.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with business users, operations teams, technology teams, and external vendors.
• Conduct workshops and solution walkthroughs.
• Provide functional guidance throughout project lifecycle.

Testing & Implementation

• Prepare functional test scenarios and test cases.
• Support SIT, UAT, and production deployment activities.
• Validate message flows and reconciliation processes.
• Assist in issue resolution and root cause analysis.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with SWIFT standards and banking regulations.
• Support audit, risk, and control requirements.
• Monitor impacts of SWIFT and ISO 20022 releases.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in banking payments and SWIFT solutions.
• Strong understanding of payment processing and financial messaging.
• Experience with SWIFT Alliance products and ISO 20022 standards.
• Knowledge of correspondent banking operations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in payment hubs and core banking integrations.
• Knowledge of sanctions screening and AML processes.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
• Understanding of API-based payment solutions.
