Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Business Analyst specializing in Payments, Clearing & Settlement Systems to design payment flows and support ISO 20022 transformations.

The role covers API mapping, message routing, and integrations across global rails such as ACH, Fedwire, CHIPS, SEPA, SWIFT, and Instant Payments. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliant, scalable payment solutions.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in Payments or Banking BA role.
• Strong understanding of payment clearing cycles and settlement processes.
• Hands‑on experience with SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, ACH, Fedwire, CHIPS, SEPA, and RTGS.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for payment processing platforms.
• Convert requirements into functional specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Design and optimize end‑to‑end payment, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation workflows.
• Configure and support domestic and cross‑border payment rails including ACH, Fedwire, CHIPS, SEPA, RTGS, Instant Payments, and SWIFT.
• Develop data‑mapping and message transformation documents for ISO 20022 XML standards.
• Define API specifications, message routing rules, and integration requirements with tech teams.
• Support sanctions screening, AML, KYC, and fraud controls within payment workflows.
• Analyze payment exceptions, returns, rejects, investigations, and settlement issues.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Operations, and Development teams across the SDLC.
• Execute API validation and support SIT, UAT, and production deployment activities.

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with deep expertise in Payments, Clearing & Settlement Systems. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience designing payment flows, supporting ISO 20022 transformation initiatives, mapping API and payment messages, and managing integrations across global payment rails such as ACH, Fedwire, CHIPS, SEPA, SWIFT, and Instant Payments.

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the Payments or Banking domain.
• Strong understanding of payment clearing cycles, settlement processes, and message routing.
• Hands‑on experience with SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, ACH, Fedwire, CHIPS, and SEPA payment systems.
• Experience working with payment hubs, transaction orchestration engines, or enterprise payment platforms.
• Knowledge of sanctions screening, AML, KYC, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience with SQL for data analysis and Postman for API testing.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on payment modernization or ISO 20022 migration programs.
• Knowledge of real‑time payment networks and cross‑border payment processing.
• Certification in CBAP, Agile BA, Scrum, or Payments domain is a plus.
