Job summary

Mizuho Global Services Pvt Ltd (MGS) seeks a seasoned Business Analyst to lead GL Operations projects, bridging business users and IT to ensure compliant, efficient processes.

You will document BRD and manuals, guide UAT, and mentor BA team while coordinating with overseas and local stakeholders to drive effective GL solutions.

Open to candidates with 10–15 years in GL, accounting GAAP knowledge, and Oracle ERP experience; Chennai location, full-time.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years' experience in Back Office GL or end-to-end GL implementation.
• Experience in setting up the chart of accounts and knowledge of Accounting GAAP and regulatory reporting.
• Proven experience in requirements gathering, process documentation (BRD/manuals) and stakeholder coordination.
• Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and issues with effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Management for GL projects, coordinating with SME/IT.
• Stakeholder Coordination with business users and IT; support requirement clarification and documentation.
• Lead BA tasks: facilitate system function/workflow design; gather requirements and perform gap analysis.
• Create/maintain BRD, manuals, and project deliverables; support risk management.

Job Description: Business Analyst

Open positions:

• 10 - 15 years experience, GL Operations (Back-Office)

Job Purpose:
He / She will play a key role as Business Analyst lead in the GL domain including task allocation, review, and issue escalation, focusing on process improvement, documentation, and cross-functional coordination. Will also act as a bridge between business users, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and compliant GL operations. This includes translating requirements into solutions by collaborating with IT, Business/Product Owners, Compliance/Risk SMEs, and Domain Leads, and executing tasks based on the directions provided by the Requirements Owner, such as BRD documentation, test case preparation, and UAT support.

Key Accountabilities:

Project Planning and Management

• Develop and manage the overall plan for pre-study and implementation as a business analyst in GL area, in collaboration with the Subject Matter Experts.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate and confirm requirements with business users and IT; support requirement clarification, impact analysis, and documentation.

Execution of User Tasks as Business Analyst

• Execute user tasks as follows with leading other BA members, as a lead of the team:
  • Facilitate system function and workflow design
  • Gather User and Business requirements and perform gap analysis
• Establish and introduce new work procedures and/ or interim solutions
  • Provide training to local and overseas users
  • Provide support for User Acceptance Testing
  • Conduct study to analyze system effectiveness
  • Assist in the preparation of System and Operation manuals

Documentation and Quality Control

• Prepare, review, and update deliverables such as BRD and any other project materials.

Risk and Issue Management

• Identify project risks, impacts, and issues; propose solutions and contingency plans.

User Support and Knowledge Transfer

• Promote standardization of deliverables and knowledge sharing within the team. Assist in end-user adoption activities.

Requirements:

• At least 10-15 years of experience in the Back Office in G/L area or end-to end GL system implementation.
• Experience in setting up the chart of accounts, good understanding of accounting principles and practices (Accounting GAAP), reconciliation and financial regulatory reporting in at least one or more jurisdiction.
• Proven experience in requirements gathering, process documentation (including preparation, review, and maintenance of business/system documentation such as BRD and manuals), and coordination with multiple stakeholders (business, IT, vendors).
• Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and issues, with ability to propose and implement effective solutions.
