Job summary

Regnology in Pune, India is seeking a Business Analyst to join our Reg‑Reporting Hub (RRH) product development centre. The role combines banking regulation analysis with functional specification and software solution design.

You will translate complex regulations into data models, rules, and test scenarios, performing SQL‑based implementations and UAT. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in banking/finance or IT in the banking domain focusing on regulatory reporting.
• Proficient with SQL for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with XML, XBRL, JSON and MS Excel/Access is a plus.
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of Basel accords is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze regulations and business/client requirements from national and international banking authorities.

Regnology is a global leader in regulatory reporting. We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Reg‑Reporting Hub (RRH) product development centre in Pune, India. The role is a techno‑functional position which involves analysing international banking regulations and translating them into functional specifications and software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze regulations and business/client requirements from national and international banking authorities.
• Translate regulations into functional specifications, including data gap analysis, data modelling & mapping, and business/validation rules.
• Perform functional implementations using SQL on decision tables or allocation rules.
• Create and validate functional scenarios and test data, conduct UAT and regression testing.
• Develop a clear understanding of product roadmaps through interaction with Product Owners and Subject Matter Experts.
• Maintain detailed end‑user documentation and internal technical‑functional guides.
• Provide support for customer projects and resolve functional tickets.
• Collaborate with national and international colleagues at all levels within the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a bank, financial institution, or IT firm within the banking domain focusing on regulatory frameworks and reporting standards.
• Degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, Mathematics, Economics or Chartered Accountant/ICWA preferred.
• Proficient with SQL for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with XML, XBRL, JSON, and MS Excel/Access is a plus.
• Expert knowledge of banking products, financial instruments, and financial markets.
• Good understanding of balance sheets, P&L statements, and basic accounting concepts is a plus.
• Knowledge of market risk, counterparty credit risk, and Basel accords is a plus.
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
• Hands‑on experience working within Agile (Scrum/Kanban) project environments using Jira and Confluence.
