Job summary

BDO India invites a seasoned Business Analyst to join our Insurance Tech Practice. This role blends technical analysis with agile project management to translate functional specs into system-level requirements and coordinate with engineering and architecture teams.

You will drive end-to-end delivery for client solutions, manage sprints, risks and resources, and liaise with architects to ensure alignment of data, APIs and cloud services.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in technology consulting or software delivery.
• Insurance domain experience preferred.
• Strong IT architecture knowledge across cloud, APIs, microservices.
• Proficient in Agile/Scrum with Jira/Confluence.

Role Overview

The Business Analyst is the execution engine of our Insurance Tech Practice. This role is a unique hybrid of a Technical Business Analyst and an Agile Project Manager. You will be responsible for translating functional specifications into system-level requirements, coordinating closely with our shared engineering and architecture teams, and driving the end-to-end delivery of client solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Requirement Translation: Deep-dive into technical workflows, API integrations, data schemas, and non-functional requirements to map out how systems interact.
• Delivery & Project Management: Manage agile sprints, project timelines, risk logs, and resource allocation to ensure high-quality delivery on time and within budget.
• Architect Liaison: Serve as the daily primary interface for the shared Technical and Data Architects, managing their workloads, priorities, and code/design reviews.
• Pre-sales & Asset Creation: Help build reusable practice accelerators (e.g., standard API catalogs, data migration checklists etc) and support the Director in creating technical proposal architectures.

Key Requirements

• Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in a technology consulting or software delivery environment, with either general insurance/life insurance or health insurance.
• Technical Literacy: Strong understanding of modern IT architectures- including cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), REST APIs, microservices, and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Methodologies: Highly proficient in Agile/Scrum frameworks, Jira/Confluence management, and project tracking tools.
