ERGO Technology & Services in Mumbai, India, seeks a skilled Requirements Engineer to gather, document, align and manage project requirements, and contribute to solution component descriptions and change requests.

You will collaborate with requirement engineers, business analysts and product owners, utilize Jira/ALM and MS Office for requirements, and assist developers and testers in translating and validating requirements. COBOL knowledge is preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Domain knowledge of COBOL.
• Experience in requirements engineering or business analysis; SQL basics.
• Experience with distributed teams (off-shore, near-shore, on-site).
• Knowledge of insurance contract/administration processes.

Responsabilités

• Gather, document, align and manage requirements for projects and maintenance.
• Collaborate with requirement engineers, business analysis and product owners to derive system requirements from business requirements in JIRA, ALM and MS Office.
• Work with developers to translate system documentation into programming specifications.
• Cooperate with test engineers to create testable system requirements and define expected outcomes.
• Maintain rules and configurations, control and data tables, and monitor SLA-related usage and availability.

Role & responsibilities

• Executes the gathering, documentation, alignment and management of all requirements in projects and maintenance and contribution to solution component description incl. the documentation and alignment of change requests
• Cooperates with the requirement engineers, business analysis and product owners in the creation of system requirements from the business requirements in JIRA, ALM and Microsoft Office
• Collaborates with the developers in the adaptation of the system documentation as a specification for the programming
• Cooperates with the test engineers in the creation of testable system requirements
• Supports the definition of the expected functional test outcomes
• Identifies and resolves issues with applications and carries out agreed applications maintenance tasks (incl. recurring tasks) for functional operations and assures functional and technical quality
• Evaluates submitted error tickets, analysis and, if necessary, adapts the requirements and/or system documentation
• Maintains rules and system configurations as well as control and data tables
• Participates in the monitoring and protocolling of the utilization and availability in accordance with the agreed SLA
• Ensures all quality criteria for every requirement and evaluates according to importance and/or stability
• Participates in the agile events (stand-up, review, retro)

Preferred candidate profile

• Domain knowledge of COBOL
• Good to have experience in requirements engineering or business analysis, additionally SQL (Basics)
• Experience in working with distributed teams (off-shore, near-shore, on-site)
• Knowledge of insurance contract/administration processes
