Job Description – Business Analyst (BI & AI)
1. About the Role
We are looking for a BusinessAnalyst – BI & AI who can bridge the gap between business requirements,product teams, technology teams, and data-driven decision-making.
The candidate should havestrong analytical and documentation skills, with hands-on exposure to BI,AI, data visualization, and productivity tools. The role will involveunderstanding business requirements, converting them into structured productrequirements, preparing BRDs/FRDs/User Stories, analyzing business data, andcoordinating with cross-functional teams for successful implementation.
The ideal candidate shouldbe comfortable working across Product, Development, QA, UI/UX, Support,Sales, and Business teams.
2. Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirement Management
- Understand businessprocesses, user needs, and product requirements.
- Gather, analyze, anddocument functional and business requirements.
- Prepare and maintain:
- Business RequirementDocuments (BRD)
- Functional RequirementDocuments (FRD)
- User Stories
- Acceptance Criteria
- Process Flows /Workflows
- Use Cases
- FunctionalSpecifications
- Identify gaps,dependencies, assumptions, and potential edge cases in requirements.
- Convert businessrequirements into clear and implementation-ready specifications.
- Participate inrequirement discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
BI & Data Analysis
- Work with business datato identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and insights.
- Prepare dashboards,reports, and analytical views using BI tools.
- Understand datasources, data relationships, KPIs, and business metrics.
- Work with various databasesto extract and validate data.
- Support creation ofbusiness dashboards and management reports.
- Analyze existingreports and recommend improvements based on business requirements.
- Validate data accuracybetween source systems, reports, and dashboards.
AI & Productivity Tools
- Explore and utilize AItools to improve requirement analysis, documentation, data analysis,reporting, and productivity.
- Use AI-assisted toolsfor:
- Requirement analysis
- User Story creation
- Documentation
- Data analysis
- Report/dashboardideation
- Process optimization
- Stay updated withemerging AI, BI, analytics, and automation tools.
- Identify practicalopportunities where AI can improve business processes and productcapabilities.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate effectivelywith Product, Development, QA, UI/UX, Sales, Support, and otherdepartments.
- Act as a bridge betweenbusiness stakeholders and technical teams.
- Clarify requirementsand resolve functional ambiguities during development and testing.
- Participate in sprintplanning, requirement walkthroughs, UAT, and product demonstrations.
- Track requirementchanges and communicate their impact to relevant stakeholders.
Product & Process Analysis
- Study existing productworkflows and identify improvement opportunities.
- Analyze businessprocesses and suggest process optimization.
- Identify functionalgaps and translate them into product enhancement requirements.
- Support product teamsin defining new features and improving existing functionality.
- Ensure requirements arealigned with business objectives and end-user expectations.
3. Required Skills
Must Have
- 1+ year of experienceas a Business Analyst / Product Analyst / Functional Analyst / BIAnalyst.
- Strong understanding ofbusiness analysis concepts and requirement gathering.
- Good knowledge of BRD,FRD, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and process documentation.
- Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills.
- Good understanding ofdata and business reporting.
- Hands-on exposure to atleast one BI / visualization tool such as:
- Power BI
- Tableau
- Similar BI platforms
- Basic to intermediateknowledge of Databases.
- Good understanding ofdatabases and data structures.
- Strong communicationand stakeholder management skills.
- Good proficiency in MSExcel / Google Sheets.
- Ability to work withcross-functional teams.
Preferred
- Exposure to AI toolssuch as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Claude, Lovable, or similartools.
- Experience using AI forbusiness analysis, documentation, data analysis, or productivity.
- Knowledge of APIs andsystem integrations.
- Good understanding ofREST APIs and JSON.
- Understanding of Agile/ Scrum methodology.
- Experience working withGitlab or similar project management tools.
- Experience inenterprise software/product development.
- Basic understanding ofUI/UX and application workflows.

5. Educational Qualification
- Bachelors degree in ComputerScience, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering,Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Additionalcertification in Business Analysis, BI, Data Analytics, or AI willbe an advantage.
6. What We Expect From the Candidate
The candidate should be ableto independently take a requirement from:

At the same time, thecandidate should be able to work with business data and BI tools to:
Data →Analysis → Insight → Dashboard/Report → Business Decision
The ideal candidate istherefore not only a documentation-focused BA, but someone who can understandthe business, analyze data, leverage AI tools, and work closely with technologyteams to deliver practical product solutions.
7. Experience
Preferred: 1–3 years
Candidates with stronganalytical skills, good BI/AI tool exposure, and excellentrequirement/documentation capabilities may be considered even if theirexperience is slightly below the preferred range.
