The role focuses on MS SQL Server installation, Always On clusters, replication, link servers, patching, hardening and day-to-day maintenance to ensure high availability and performance.

The ideal candidate will manage monitoring, incident response, and regular maintenance tasks, including index maintenance and database migrations, with a strong emphasis on reliability and security.

Qualifications

• Experience with MS SQL Server installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on Always On/Failover cluster setup and management.
• Experience with replication, link servers and patching in day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor logs and events to identify incidents and outages.
• Monitor database availability and replication status.
• Manage and maintain Always On availability groups.
• Configure and schedule maintenance plans and index rebuilds.
• Reinstall/upgrade database software as required.
• Configure and manage transaction replication and link servers.
• Tuning DB parameters for performance and availability.
• Respond to incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain and update database environment documentation.

We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in managing and supporting MS SQL Database including Failover Cluster, Always ON Setup and new server provisioning, Transaction replication, Link Servers, Hardening, and patching in day-to-day operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1) Monitor generated log and event files indicating errors that will result in an incident
• 2) DR Database availability Monitoring
• 4) Report Status of Log Replications as per agreed schedules
• 5) Session/Query/Log/Latch monitoring
• 6) Monitor the DB for failures and logged system events that indicate an imminent failure
• 7) Purging database Logs and trace files
• 8) Periodic config review to maintain consistent configurations
• 9) Review and recommendation to maintain availability
• 10) Monthly report on database availability
• 11) Monitor the DB for failures and logged system events that indicate imminent failure.
• 12) Reinstall Database software
• 14) Transaction replication Configuration
• 15) Link Servers configuration
• 17) Always ON
• 18) Responding to database related incidents and driving corrective action
• 19) Tuning DB parameters
• 20) Correlate related incidents together into a problem ticket and manage through the problem
• 21) Use trend analysis to identify, detail, categorize, prioritize and create Problems Management

• 23) Creating jobs/job schedule for routine/Maintenance jobs & Rebuilding of indexes
• 24) Purging database Logs and trace files & Performance Management
