Qualifications

• 2-4 years of MS SQL Server Database Administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments.
• Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor health, performance, availability; address issues proactively.
• Optimize performance via query tuning, indexing, and resource management.
• Manage HA/DR solutions like Always On, Log Shipping, Mirroring, and Failover Clustering.
• Manage security, access, roles, permissions, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot incidents and provide L2/L3 support; assist application teams during deployments.
• Automate tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, or SQL Agent Jobs.
• Create SOPs and knowledge articles.

Role: MS SQL Server Database Administrator

Level: JL3

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled MS SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, optimize, and support mission-critical SQL Server database environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, and production support in enterprise environments.

Roles Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments.


• Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.


• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.


• Monitor database health, performance, and availability and proactively address issues.


• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and resource management.


• Configure and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions such as Always On Availability Groups

• Failover Clustering


• Manage database security, user access, roles, permissions, and compliance requirements.


• Troubleshoot database-related incidents and provide L2/L3 support.


• Support application teams during deployments, releases, and database changes.


• Automate routine administrative tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, or SQL Agent Jobs.


• Create and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles.

Technical Requirement

• Strong hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server Administration.


• Experience with SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 environments.


• Expertise in: Database Installation Configuration; Backup Recovery; Database Performance Tuning; Query Optimization; Index Management; High Availability Disaster Recovery; Security Management; Capacity Planning; Strong knowledge of T-SQL scripting and troubleshooting.


• Experience with SQL Server Agent, SSMS, Profiler, Extended Events, and Performance Monitoring tools.


• Knowledge of Windows Server administration fundamentals.


• Experience in incident, problem, and change management processes.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Azure SQL Database, Azure Managed Instance, or cloud database platforms.


• Experience with database monitoring tools such as Redgate, SolarWinds DPA, SentryOne, or similar solutions.


• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation.


• Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD database deployment practices.


• ITIL Foundation certification (preferred).

Additional Responsibility

• Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience in MS SQL Server Database Administration.


• Experience supporting production database environments with high availability requirements.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
