Job summary

Jindal Urban Waste Management Jodhpur Ltd. is seeking a Diploma in Mechanical holder to operate and monitor a high-pressure boiler and associated systems.

You will optimize combustion, manage alarms, and maintain steam quality while logging hourly data for performance evaluation. The role requires strict adherence to SOPs for start-up/shutdown, proactive coordination with field operators and maintenance teams, and swift handling of emergencies.

Qualifications

• Operate and monitor high-pressure boiler and auxiliary equipment via DCS.
• Adjust fuel, air, pressure, and temperature for optimal combustion and steam generation.
• Monitor alarms and trips, perform root-cause analysis within 15 minutes.
• Track boiler parameters and target 80% efficiency.
• Log data hourly and prepare MIS reports for performance evaluation.
• Follow SOPs for start-up and shutdown with zero deviations.
• Coordinate with field operators and maintenance teams for seamless operations.
• Handle emergencies like surges, low water, or fuel feeder trips safely.
• Ensure feed water, air/ flue gas, and cooling water systems are available.
• Adhere to safety like LOTO and work permit procedures.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. 1. DCS Operation & Monitoring: Operate and monitor the high-pressure boiler and auxiliary equipment through DCS. Maintain steam parameters within design limits pressure 2%, temperature 5C.
2. 2. Parameter Control & Optimization: Adjust process parameters (fuel feed, air flow, pressure, and temperature) to ensure optimal combustion efficiency and steam generation.
3. 3. Alarm & Trip Management: Monitor system alarms and trips; perform root cause identification and initiate corrective actions within 15 minutes of occurrence.
4. 4. Performance Monitoring: Track key operating parameters including drum level, superheater temperature, fuel moisture, and flue gas temperature; target boiler efficiency 80%.
5. 5. Data Logging & Analysis: Record and analyze hourly DCS trends and operational data. Maintain accurate logs and MIS reports for performance evaluation.
6. 6. Start-up & Shutdown Operations: Execute boiler light-up, warm-up, and shutdown through DCS as per approved SOPs ensuring no operational deviations.
7. 7. Coordination & Communication: Coordinate with field operators, turbine desk engineers, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operations and quick restoration post-maintenance.
8. 8. Emergency Response: Handle system disturbances and emergencies like pressure surges, low water level, or fuel feeder trip safely and promptly.
9. 9. Auxiliary Management: Ensure availability of feed water systems, air/flue gas systems, and cooling water systems during all shifts.
10. 10. Safety & Compliance: Follow all statutory and plant safety procedures including Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and work permit systems. Maintain zero unsafe conditions or incidents.
11. 11. Energy & Efficiency Monitoring: Monitor auxiliary power consumption and maintain it below 10% of total generation. Assist in energy optimization initiatives.
12. 12. Housekeeping & 5S Compliance: Ensure clean and organized DCS control room and maintain visual management standards.
13. 13. Prepare detailed shift reports, maintain records of operational activities, incidents, and maintenance, and report hazards immediately.
14. 14. Collaborate closely with Shift In charges, plant personnel, engineers, and maintenance teams to optimize overall plant performance and safety.
