Job summary

JSW Steel in Navi Mumbai is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to maintain blast furnaces and related electrical systems, including troubleshooting transformers, blowers, HT/LT switchgear, relays, and control panels. The role requires 5–10 years in a similar iron & steel setting with strong knowledge of electrical engineering, relay testing, and PLC/SCADA operation.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in blast furnace electrical maintenance or a similar role in an iron & steel industry setting.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including relay testing and control system operation using PLC panels (PLC SCADA).
• Proficiency in working with various types of electrical equipment such as transformers, blowers, pumps etc.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance tasks on blast furnaces, including troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment such as transformers, blowers, HT switchgear, LT switchgear, relays, and control systems.
• Ensure proper functioning of cooling water systems by monitoring pressure gauges and flow meters.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues with electrical instrumentation and take corrective action to prevent breakdowns.
• Collaborate with other teams to resolve problems related to material handling within the steel plant.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any defects or malfunctions found during inspections.
